It’s starting to look like Isaiah Thomas may not get above the minimum. We’d have to be an ideal place for him to get minutes on a playoff team. Not sure on the fit with his attitude but on the minimum it’s gotta be considered.

I don’t see his fit here.

He has been discussed (quite a bit, actually) internally

I do think there is a small chance you can get him for the minimum, but I don't see getting him for the minimum and not guaranteeing him the starter position.

And if he says he will sign if you let him start and improve his market for next year, I would pass. If he is humbled and is willing to come off the bench for 20 mins a game, I'd sign him.

I can’t argue with that. I just don’t seem as a fit in a starting role. He’s not a distributor he’s an undersized scorer. I want a distributor next to Jrue if we are playing him offball.

But off the bench he would basically be trying to take Clark’s role, no?

I'd be concerned with him being a starter on our team. He seems to have ball stopping instincts that won't fly in our system. That said, there are a lot of IT to Randle PnR highlights. He'd be great in an assassin off the bench role for us possibly even playing starters minutes. He'd definitely get his stats in our system.

Spurs are declining to match Kyle Anderson’s four-year, $37M offer sheet with Memphis, league sources tell ESPN. Anderson will likely become Grizzlies starting small forward.

The Spurs one step closer to falling out of the playoffs and Memphis one step closer to getting back in.

It's funny. I listen to NBA radio on XM a good bit. Love listening to Joel and Legs. There are some other asshats on their later in the evening and on the weekends that know nothing about the NBA.

To most of them, it's a forgone conclusion that the Pelicans will be the team that misses the playoffs so the Lakers can make it, and Demarcus Cousins has no injury.
We were winning at a 50 win pace after Cousins went down. We lost Rondo, who really didnt' help that much on the court during the regular season, and we gained an extremely quality big to play with AD and Niko. We didn't get worst, and if Solo can get back to his pre injury self, we will be a better team than last year.

If i'm picking a team to miss the playoffs that made it last year, it's the Spurs without a doubt, and after them, it's Portland or the Wolves. Both of them have potential to implode next year.

I'd love to poach Danny Green from the Spurs if/when they go belly up. No idea what kind of contract he's on though.

Green i think opted into his player option he had for this year, $10M if i remember correctly.

He hasn't been the same guy he was a few years ago. Yeah he still hits threes at a nice rate, but what was loved from him was his defense, and he's lost a step or two perhaps, or maybe having Tim Duncan patrolling the paint made that big of a difference.

I wonder if GMs feel the same way. It would make our pick more valuable for when we inevitably decide to move it.

Clips have way too many guys on the roster. I would be trying to help them with that, basically telling them that I will take Wes Johnson off their hands for the cost of Milos or Pat Beverly

A trade like this would work:

Ajinca, Liggins, and a 2nd for Beverly and Wes Johnson

Clips just cut the two they receive back. Save 5 mil in the process (maybe more if Ajinca is covered by insurance), open up spots for all their young guards and wings. And get a 2nd rounder. To make it Milos and Johnson, you can do Okafor and Ajinca. Saves them even more money.

I agree. This is now my new favorite realistic, fake trade

Beverly or Milos and Wes for Ajinca and Liggins or Okafor

Makes so much sense for both teams. I think I'd slightly prefer Milos because of the passing and health, but Beverly has the higher upside for sure. Wes Johnson would just be an expiring contract in my mind. Anything he gives is gravy

Been waiting for awhile for Clips to waive Milos. He'd be a good fit here. Surprisingly shoots the 3 well too.
