Rondo, yes/maybe. Boogie, no.

Both those guys have their offers. They aren't changing. If Rondo wants more, he could possibly get it if this guy says no. But if this guy says yes, Pels really can't raise their offer to Rondo. And if someone else beats it, they could lose him. Boogie is unaffected.

Thanks for all the info.
Preciate you.

I am fine with both of the options you presented, but can't see Washington giving up Beal over Porter. I think a lineup of Rondo/Jrue/Beal/Mirotic/AD is one that can actually challenge the Rockets and Warriors, so yeah, i'd be ecstatic if we traded Cousins for Beal.

I'll say this, if Cousins goes, then i without a doubt want Rondo back if we are going to small ball lineups with AD at the 5. I don't necessarily want them both back, just one of them.

Also completely on board with Jerami Grant. Agree with everything you said. This team needs some young energetic guys. We have one, Diallo, and he's still not ready to contribute in the playoffs. Having guys like that for the regular season to just hustle their arse off in a reserve roll can be the difference in being a 45 win team and a 50 win team imo.

I think trading Hill now would be a bad move, even though i'd like to. His value is at an all time low. If he puts in the time this offseason and comes back simply to form he was 2 years ago, he'd be much easier to move.

Do you see Ajinca getting moved this offseason like QPon, or will they hold on to him for the trade deadline?

First off, glad to see you back on here, sir. Thanks for all the information.

Secondly, props to Mason and Shamit. They did a great job on the "first" In the NO podcast. You left it in great hands.

I love the idea of a Beal acquisition. He and Jerami Grant would both fit perfectly in this system.

A guy I like, just curious of your thoughts on fit, is Kyle Anderson. I know he's valued by SA and is restricted, but I can see him being a guy that creates and plays good D on the wing. With everything happening in SA with Kawhi he may be a guy we can snag with the MLE.

Appreciate the info MM . Would be fully on board with the Beal scenario but I guess I always figured the Wiz wouldn't be willing to part with him.

Apparently there's a lot of drama in the Wizards locker room. Some of that was between Wall and Gortat, but I also think some of it may have been between Beal and Wall.

clearly the only gettable guys are gonna be there in that group
the hardest to fill will be PG they are just going to have to hope to get lucky with another undrafted guy or D leaguer

That has been a storyline for a while, but supposedly they are fine. A recent Sato interview with some curious responses regarding playing time makes me think he will be gone soon. Wall did not like him getting accolades when Wall was injured and Tomas doesn't like sitting for higher paid guys just because they make a lot more than him. The wizards are not going to pay him next summer, so they might as well get something for him.

Didn't beal have an underhanded comment about Wall being out and him being a better ball handler?

I'd love beal personally. We're screwed at sf until we can kick out hill anyway.

wiz would be taking a gargantuan risk by swapping Beal for boogie especially this coming season. I don’t see it

That was just a dream scenario. That is almost certainly not happening. Would be pretty cool though.

Most likely is we run it back and add some minor pieces that we hope play above their pay grade.

agreed

so back to the big question...what are cousins’ realistic options other than the pels offer?
to me there’s only one, and that depends on Lebron going to the lakers and the Lakers missing out on PG and KL. they could roll the dice on cousins and let Lebron do the recruiting for minimums this year and stars next year

Lonzo Ball is intriguing to me. I don't really give a shite about much of what dad says or does. But getting past that, getting Ball (obviously a talented kid) under the tutelage of Rondo and Jrue... Could become a solid PG in this league.

When asked about whether the Pelicans are worried about DeMarcus Cousins leaving in free agency, Danny Ferry on Sirius XM explained New Orleans had two very different seasons last year and matter of factly stated they'll proceed either with him or without him.

Yup. The issue is we still need some help. AD can't play like that all season, he's gonna wear out by playoffs. You watch it happen every year with harden

Now that is interesting considering Ferry's association with the team.

Imagine where the Pels would be if they hadn't turned Asik into Mirotic? They'd not only be desperate to keep Boogie so he'd have leverage, but they'd probably be desperate to add a useful big just to cover the first few months. For those tired of trading draft picks, if there's a way you can do what you did with Asik in a trade with Hill, you have to give up another pick.
