Pretty sure he's semi-retiring from all the basketball stuff.

That is good to hear.

Pels sign Glenn Robinson III or Joe Harris for tax payer.
Both of those guys are wing shooters. Do they have any interest in someone like Ennis, or do they think adding more spacing is the way to go?

Path A: Focus time on multiple restaurants my wife and I own, potentially worth millions when/iff we sell
Path B: Write and work on a podcast for free. Waste time on Twitter answering questions from people I don't know. Again, for free.
It was a tough choice, but I am sticking with it ;)

Keep an eye on Greg Monroe in New Orleans if the Pelicans hold firm on plans to offer DeMarcus Cousins a shorter, non-max deal -- and somehow lose him. The much-dreamed-of sign-and-trade sending Cousins to Washington is very tricky given both teams' tax situations and might require a third team -- if Washington and Cousins are even interested.
Monroe would make an interesting 3rd big on a cheap deal. I know people felt we dodged a bullet the way he played in Boston, but on a cheap deal he can help you get through the regular season.

it is clear as day that boogie is not going to have a nuclear option on the table and I am relieved to hear that the pels see that as well. The trick is going to be diplomacy with boogies camp so that the short deal here motivates him to out perform it and not having him here pouting and causing shite

Getting Beal would be really really amazing.
Still no 3 though and Jrue playing PG is just not my favorite.
I know you said that's simply your wish and most likely not to happen though.
I wish this team could get a wing one day.

That was leaked by Monroe's people, not the Pels
Okafor is on a non-guaranteed contract through Jan 10. Howard is out there. They like B Lopez too. So many big men options. Monroe could be a cheap rental candidate, but so can many others. He is not a priority. Just an option

Do you know of any path towards getting a legitimate wing player?

This is so understated. Dell was given the order to win now. Every move he made was a win now move, coming straight from the top. If he manages to attract that final piece to compete, or sheds the salaries necesarry to make us a big player next FA, that’s huge.
Congrats on the restaurants, brah. If any are in NOLA you should offer a pelisons discount for a PT get together. I will personally guarantee no one shits in the sink.

Boogie's ONLY chance to ever get a huge deal is to get healthy and perform well over the next two years and then sign a monster deal in 2020. He knows this, and would be on his best behavior.
My bigger worry with a two year deal is: If he knows his payday is the summer of 2020, why rush back for the 2018-19 season? GM's will evaluate him based on 2019-20 season. So, he might take way longer to come back this season. So, I would incentivize the heck out of that contract for the upcoming season with games played, minutes played, etc benchmarks.

The path is to hope Hill comes back and plays at least well enough to not be considered a terrible contract, and then package him and possibly Moore, picks, etc for a wing in February or next June/July.
They are not getting the wing you seek in these next few weeks

They have shifted focus to a meeting they have set up at 12:01 on July 1st. Not a big name guy at all, but someone they feel can help.
My guess is Joe Harris. I think he's an under the radar guy that will have an aggressive market. Getting to him early will be key.

In turn, we know we are talented enough without a predominant boogie presence to at least make the playoffs and would want him to take it slow to an extent so that he's as close to 100% as possible entering post season.

Harris's shooting percentages look really good to me, and his DRTG isn't as bad as I thought it would be. Might be a useful player for us.

Slow is fine (return in December, January, even right after AS break)
Solomon Hill type return (super late in reg season or not at all) would not be fine by me.
That is typically an injury nowadays where you miss 9 months, spend 2 more months to get back in shape, and then probably don't get your game 90% back for 18 months.
Which means, he should be able to be in the rotation by November or December if super motivated. Get in condition over the next few months and go full throttle post All Star break. Then, full offseason and he is 90-95% back by 2019 training camp.
But if he is not motivated to come back for 2018-19 season, then we can see a Kawhi situation where he just doesn't trust what team officials are saying and he waits, and waits, and waits. I wouldn't be down with that.

The issue with Harris is that he isn't a great ball mover or creator. He will hit the open shot, he will move to get open and he tries hard and is smart on D. He's solid.
With GR3, you have a lower floor, but a higher ceiling. If that guy reaches his potential and stays healthy, he can be on the floor in a playoff series against GS or Houston. I don't know if you can say the same for Harris.

GR3 looks better than Harris but we are talking full on wishes and dreams with those guys. But we have to take risks because we have no money, not much in the way of assets, and a gaping hole at the wing.

I they sign/agree with person they are pursuing at 12:01am, does it have any bearing on whether Boogie and Rondo could come back (i.e. cap wise)?

The wing won't be solved any time soon. Every team has a weakness. Warriors have no center, Rockets no true PF, etc etc. You will never have the perfect team.
The hope is that the wing can be addressed for the next few years in February (if they keep Boogie) or in July of 2019 (if they let him go)
