I don't get why so many people want to hold onto Dyson so much that it would tank a BI trade. Dyson has so far to go to be able to play in clutch situations. If we are making a win now trade, Dyson is no longer a fit. He is a situational player at best right now. If he can net us a guy who can play 25+ minutes a game you make that trade every time.

It's not holding onto Dyson.
It's not giving him up for a player that you don't see as better.
I'd rather Dyson than Okongwu.
I'd rather Dyson than Max Struss.
If other teams are hell bent on including him in trades, then he obviously has some value, and most of us see the potential he has, which is why we are reluctant to give him up for a piece that doesn't really move the needle much.
We have too many assets to replace with Dyson instead of sending him out.
And if they are hell bent on getting a defender, then we can go get them one using other assets, like sending a 1st out to get Caruso.

Apron is not the cap. For instance, the 76ers do not have enough cap space to take all 3. They will have a cap hold on Maxey and holds for the minimum roster spots. Cap space is not the apron
Yes this was made clear above. I'm aware there is a difference.
We CAN trade BI/ CJ/ Nance without taking anything back. Teams have the space. That was my overall point, I'm really not trying to get into an argument with anyone

and free agency isn’t actually a thing in the NBA anyway.
EXACTLY
Almost every big name FA gets S&T anyway. You're almost better off having the $30M contract to attach to the S&T than the cap space.

That's a trade that will basically end Sacramento. It will fall big time

That is also a trade that has their ownership written all over it.
Vivek has always been chasing a sharpshooter, which is why we were able to flip Buddy Hield as part of a deal to get Cousins.

It's really not a bad trade for the Kings, or the Bulls, and it also shows they aren't interested in blowing anythign up and that they want to get better, which isn't a good thing for the west.
Y'all can bitch all you want about Lavine, when he's locked in he's a really good player on both ends of the court. The Kings will be better with him.

Philly is ending their pursuit of PG to keep cap flexibility and the ability to be aggressive elsewhere. Won’t be surprised if that means they’re targeting Ingram.

The bitching is purely how long til he falls apart physically.
He has began regressing each year the past 4 years.
ORTG, down
DRTG, down
PPG down
shooting splits, down
Zach Lavine for 3 years, 138mil? No thank you.

Both ends?
Yeah. unlike BI, when Lavine played for team USA he was lauded for his defense more than anything.

It has been exciting to watch LaVine these Olympics as he has taken a major step forward this year. One of the main takeaways from his performance in the Olympics has been an increased effort on the defensive end. Coach Popovich has utilized LaVine and Holiday as the primary defenders against several opponents' guards. In those games, the Bulls' guard was tasked with guarding Tomas Satoransky, Ricky Rubio, and Patty Mills on multiple occasions. His efforts also haven't gone unnoticed, as Durant even acknowledged LaVine in a postgame interview.

Looks like the same package minus a first the kings were hoping to get BI with lol. Tells you how bad that trade is if they getting Lavine for it. Trying to remember the poster that was pushing this trade on here.
But I agree, I think it’s a decent deal for both sides for where they are at. Bulls get from out of that contract, kings roll the dice on a much better player than can be a difference maker if he’s healthy. Big risk though. But the loaded West can force you into taking risks like this.

You wonder if Harden told PG that Morey is a snake. This may help us in the fact Philly might start going after BI a little harder. They could help facilitate some 3 way deals with the trade exception.

Giddey to the Bulls, Caruso to the Thunder
Posted on 6/20/24 at 4:15 pm to Macintosh
I think it’s a good trade. The ball is more in Giddey hands and it won’t overlap with SGA/JW. Caruso is a great defender that doesn’t need the ball in his hands. RIP Lonzo
