Also I haven’t seen it posted on PT but the Max Christie contract extension was fricking hilarious. Dude is so arse and he barely got paid less than Naji

I would love Tyus Jones on our team. Hes a play maker and his assist to turnover ratio is great. I won’t count on his defense being that bad playing with Wizards. I love Jose but I don’t think he can facilitate an offense like Tyus. IMO, you do need your bench to do well in the earlier rounds and then you shorten it when you go deeper in the playoffs.

You need at least 7 of those guys, 8 ideally. We have 5 right now with BI going out.
Yep, we need to get at least 2 back in the BI trade, 3 would be great.

Don't feel like starting another thread on this b/c it's not Pels related, but it's pretty eye opening with what went on with Klay.

Warriors rejected a 2/$40M deal for him, Klay rejected 4/$80M from Lakers, and took 3/$50M from the Mavs instead

Thompson had felt disrespected, sources said, that the team didn't offer him an extension the summer after it won that title. That feeling only deepened the following summer when Golden State was only willing to discuss two-year contracts in the range of $23 million to $24 million, instead of matching the four-year, $100 million deal Green had received.
quote:
ABOUT A MONTH after the round of golf at Riviera, with his future at Golden State increasingly uncertain, Thompson had a revelation. After almost a year of despair, he needed an entirely new experience, sources said. Out of the fishbowl, away from all the history and people he had always known. Two weeks prior, Thompson's camp had made one final offer to the Warriors, a two-year deal for roughly $20 million per season, sources said. The response was the same as it had been for nearly a year: We just can't do it yet.
quote:
The Mavericks were thrilled to get a player of Thompson's ability and experience on such a reasonably priced contract. The team had a great run to get to the Finals this season, but sources said Dallas felt it needed more veteran leadership to build off the performance.
The Thunder also were interested in Thompson but ended up prioritizing big man Isaiah Hartenstein with their cap space.
That left the Lakers. His father's team. His idol's team. LeBron's team. The team ultimately was willing to offer Thompson more years and more money than he accepted from Dallas. Sources said James was willing to take less and the Lakers were trying to make trades that would've cleared four years and nearly $80 million for Thompson.
James had several deep conversations with Thompson about the idea of playing together, sources said.

Let's say we trade Ingram for a center, I think we're at 6.
Murray
Jones
Murphy
Williamson
Center
McCollum
Need another big man and 3&d shooter/wing. Tbd if Hawkins can be that, if so we just need to find the backup big.

Pretty sure Klay wanted to win another chip and prove he still has it.
Luka > LeBron for those purposes

Honestly cool with that and using space elsewhere. My bigger beef is with the people wanting to add Huerter

Why would any good player want to play with LeBonk in 2024? He's declining physically, but the same a-hole mentally.

For what role? Also, how is their defense?

I've said Tyus Jones is an upgrade from Jose for our team and fit on a (10) man roster. A very understandable and reasonable statement.

That is also an opinion...
Val will most likely be a S&T. We have BI's trsde exception and the MLE.
Our (2) most likely targets are WCJ- 12mil and Kessler- 3mil or nothing because of the MLE.
I actually make a lot of sense and yall are talking out your arse.
Tyus is one of the best free agents besides the stars this offseason. Maybe he hasn't signed because it will be S&T and other teams have to move space...
Zion played b ball with Tyus brother.
We are one of the few teams that publicly announced interest.
He was already going to be our backup plan after Murray.
And the move actually makes sense if yall take a step back and get the Jose bias out of your head for 10 seconds.

And even with a blatant point that (1) player is better all I get is petty semantics and no one has even commented on the stats.
A DV to the Heurter comment? Upset Tyus shot better on a shite team than your SG?
You know how difficult it is to be as efficient Tyus was on a trash team?

Huerter makes zero sense for us, if we make the trade with Sacramento, we should 100% re-route Huerter to Orlando for WCJ. Barnes on the other hand could be a good backup to Zion.
ETA: Tyus isn’t a bad player, I’d just rather spend money on 2 centers and a backup forward. Jose is fine for what he is and only costs 2 mill. It’s nice to get production out of some “cheap” players on your roster, and I fully expect DJ to play 35-36 minutes in the regular season and probably more in the playoffs.
