Issac has gotten paid throughout his career on potential bc he's been on the court about as much as Zion. WCJ will be traded, and it wont be for very much.

Numbers dropped when a backup replaced an MVP in the lineup? This is my shocked face.
Obviously, but I’m just trying to justify why they would be okay with him walking and why we may not want him as our primary 5.
In the 24 games he started last year, they had a +/- of -8.1 whenever he was on the court. In the 58 games he came off the bench, they had a +/- of +10.4.
He also only played 7 mpg in the their 6 games last year in the playoffs and got blown off the floor whenever he was out there. That could also be why they’re okay with moving on.
Just for the record, I have been a Paul Reed fan since his draft. I would very much like him on this team, but only as the first big off the bench role. We would still have to get someone to give us 28+ mpg of competent center play

Reed is too small to play the 5 consistently, especially as a starter. That simple. Unfair to him to assume otherwise. He can guard backup 5's most nights coming off the bench, but not starting caliber 5's with game.

Part of me wonders if Utah is sending Kessler to gsw as well if that's the package

If tweet fails to load, click here. Orlando has now locked up Bitadze, Moe, and Isaac on new deals. They drafted a 6'9" forward. There is absolutely zero reason for them to keep WCJ.
I gotta think that Griff and Bryson are juggling phones right now and have Orlando, Cleveland, Philadelphia, Utah, and Sacramento all on the line about various proposed deals.
I expect the trade to get done soon. I'd bet good money that we have a new starting center in the next 24 hours.

Don't discount that mo and Franz are good friends with Ingram.
A trade built around Ingram and wcj makes sense, but it also needs some picks and talent from Orlando. I wonder if there's a possibility for a s&t with one of their guards Anthony or fultz

it boggles my mind that so many here dont' understand this.
He's the same size as Trey, if not smaller.
And news flash to everyone, Kessler or WCJ are not the only centers we have a shot at. Anyone can be had via trade. They don't have to be a FA, or on the trade block.
Given the history of our inept GM at putting together a decent front court to compliment Zion over the last 5 years, i won't be surprised by the shite show we end up with to start this year, and hopefully it's final reason to the end of the David Griffin wasting all our assets era

Really? Thats an interesting friendship.

Agreed. If not tomorrow, it would be July 6th when everything is official. WCJ or Kessler as starter and Reed as backup 4/5 would be solid.
Also you do not want Cole Anthony on your team. I bet so many Orlando games and he was frustrating to watch.

I don’t see why Orlando wouldn’t have interest in a straight swap of Huerter for WCJ, they will need bench shooting
Send BI to Kings for Barnes and picks, send a pick from Kings to Ainge for Kessler
Out: Ingram, Nance, Dyson, EJ, Jonas
In: Murray, Kessler, WCJ, Barnes, 2 swaps and 1 pick
Win for everyone, and we have all positions filled while still having full MLE access to go after someone like Tyus Jones

It’s not even that, my post didn’t have anything to do with Herb, maybe you got me mixed up with someone else?

Kessler is going to cost more than one first. Maybe Utah gets another heavily-protected first, or maybe two or three 2nds.
But otherwise, this is just about exactly what I would want to happen.

That’s what I was wondering with my post earlier today. Would Orlando be good with a WCJ for Huerter swap without any pick compensation? Also, what does that frickstick in Utah want for Kessler? Will he take 1 unprotected Sacramento pick?
Pels:
WCJ
Barnes
Kessler
2 picks
Utah:
1 pick
Sacramento:
BI
Orlando:
Huerter
Maybe a couple seconds or a protected pick? Probably even value though.
Would even have us cutting 3 mill in cap, with a full 2 deep roster of decent players.

Are we getting anything back from the Wizards in this deal? Like swaps or a second?
I just don’t know why you would need to include Jonas in this, because the salary matching would work without him.
We only bring in 3mil more with these moves…

We would have to get something in order for the trades to “touch”, but rumors are the Jonas contract to Washington is being done as a sign and trade, so not sure what has been discussed. They very well could be discussing a sign and trade back of Tyus Jones to keep the MLE open for both teams

This is a good framework but Utah spent a 1st for Kessler so I imagine that Utah is going to want more than 1 first. I’m fine with paying that price to get the deal over the hump
