Hawks coveted Herb for Murray. We kept Herb. This is a win

Yep. He’s not quite the 3 point shooter we want but he’s certainly an upgrade at point guard. We needed it badly.

Now we hunt for first round picks and a center

Hoenstly I feel like with dys his offense was never going to develop until his second contract which would have been on a second team regardless

Yeah, the odds of Dyson hitting here were low, it's just the nature of the league. If Hawkins doesn't show out this year he's on the same track, and it's better to trade them sooner than later.

I mean him being a part of it says we're rating him appropriately. A "young guy" that teams want to go for.

Now the issue remains, where does BI, CJ, and trey fit into this.

BI needs an extension or a trade.
Does CJ exist in this lineup and where? Will he be disgruntled?
Murphy, will he be disgruntled with coming off the bench still because now he's arguably the 7th guy if we're doing heirachy (a center in the starting lineup).

Missi is the only center on this roster.

That's the price of keeping both BI and Herb.

Well now you can flip BI for picks in my opinion. By stealing dejounte you have that luxury now.

My issue is Dyson has the value of a late 1st round pick IMO, maybe mid 1st, so we essentially gave up 3 1sts for a guy that no team offered more than 1 first for. As usual Griffin overpaid And then to give up Lakers pick? If Redick falters in his first season that’s a top 10 pick in a loaded draft class

You’re not factoring in that we got this done without BI. We can still trade him and probably come out positive or net neutral in terms of assets

Dejountes contract is very cheap that’s a plus I’ll say that.

People on here suggesting Murray for bi were crazy. That was never going to happen

It's funny the same people complaining about how we are going to run it back are know melting over us making a move

They better have a BI trade lined up or the starting lineup might be even worse than it was last year.

Yeah, this definitely has to be the first of a series of moves because while we upgraded the talent on the roster, Murray is still very much a meh player who doesn't really push us into the true contender category. It also just added another dude that needs to be ball dominant to be effective and we already have too many of those.

Dude the last time we made a big deal, we gave up Hart and other pieces to get CJ and Nance who moved the needle absolutely zero. This isn’t a needle mover. Stop letting big names distract you that the team is not any closer to a championship than it was yesterday

Tf are we doing with BI then
Hopefully they have something in the works to ship him out of town. They don’t need to pay him the amount of money he would get.

Now you either have BI back on a team friendly contract if possibe or use him to get a starting center. If done right, the team could be better and more balanced next year.

I like the trade. It’s a big win for the Pelicans. I’m curious to see what they get for BI.

Yep. Picks aren't worth much and Dyson as collateral is worth it for Murray who will consume all of his minutes.
