I be happy if Dyson could get close to the productivity of Dejounte Murray. I love DD and hope he does well. But you’re trading for someone who can actually close games and play make. DM isn’t a slouch on defense either. 30 million for a starter like DM is an absolute bargain.

Its 2 picks in the 20s and a defensive only player(Dyson) with Nance and Liddell. Even if this trade doesn’t work out- highly doubt we will regret it.

After watching KAT disappear, give me sabonis as my "center".

He can be the 3rd highest usage on that sacramento team, yet has the highest ast %. He's a 2-way player and while he can't stretch the floor he's so good facilitating he will get guys open like a mini-joker.

You asked how much it would take to pry Sabonis... My answer was simply that KAT would be easier to acquire.

The realistic answer is that Sabonis is not gettable.

Do you even watch Sabonis play he would be a horrible fit with Zion. And it's funny you talk about Kat disappearing when that is all Sabonis does it was because of him we didn't lock up a playoff spot that Friday night after that Warrior win

Idk what happens tomorrow but I like the trade today. Even happier it wasn’t Trae and also we didn’t add a short player to the roster.

Y'all, Dyson was the #10 guy in our rotation at the end of the season. It was the starters, and then it was:

Trey
Larry
Naji
Jose
Dyson

I really like Dyson's future, but we still have Herb and Jose. Dyson will get more minutes in Atlanta, because his skills were not a huge need for us.

In exchange, we got a borderline all-star at a position of need. This is an incredible value.

Is Trey still coming off the bench as the roster is currently constructed?

Murray
CJ/BI (whoever doesn’t get traded)
Herb
Zion
Center
Trey

There's a better chance that those picks are non-lottery picks than are.

And if they are lottery picks, they will barely be that. Regardless, the NBA draft is such a crapshoot after the first 10 or so picks. The 18th pick is just as volatile as the 38th pick.

I’m not including Dyson in this trade. Hawk I was ok with since he just got here.

Hawk is wayyyyyy more important to this current team. Dyson needs a lot more development to even become a serviceable offensive player. We’re on the clock to have a contending team and you’d be hard pressed justifying Dyson getting significant minutes in playoff games.

Aight, is Claxton or Allen doable?

Probably, unless they are both traded. CJ would probably be butthurt coming off the bench. That’s what I would do though, make CJ a super sub.

I feel like Herb would come off the bench.

Murray/
CJ/ Herb
Trey/
Zion/
DEFENSIVE CENTER/

The "defensive center" and Murray at PG with defense is what really allows you to start with your firepower of CJ/ Trey and Herb off the bench and to close games.

It might also be based of lineups/ teams we play. Could rotate CJ/ Herb/ Trey vs matchups and who has the hot hand.

If Herb weren’t also young then Dyson would have meant more to me, but Herb will be our defensive ace for a while and he has developed offensively. Dyson to me was Lotr of a luxury than a need. Also if dyson doesn’t develop offensively his peak value might be right now.

There’s a similar story with hawk and CJ being similar, but CJ’s just a good bit older

Claxton signed his contract. He cannot be traded.

I made a list a few pages back with a list of realistic options and a few realistic reaches

Contracts are not signed until the start of the league year, so he can still be signed and traded.

Exactly you’re basically betting on Lebron and Giannis not making the playoffs.

I highly doubt pelicans want Claxton with that contract.

Claxton isn't because he just signed an extension. We could trade for Allen or Kessler.
