Murphy closes out game at the small ball 5.
no fricking shot, not after the coming out he had this season... dude is primed to be a starter now... his shooting is too good to have him on the bench and only playing minimal minutes...

I feel like some combination of BI, CJ and 4 first round picks should be able to get us just about anyone we want right?
How much does pels talk think it would take to pry Sabonis from Sacramento?

Pels are in a win/win situation with Lakers now.
If they suck it's one less team you have to worry about for making the playoffs.
If they're good you stole this trade even moreso

pels are now capped at the first apron (178MM). JV is gone and so is Naji.
Pretty sure Marks was mistakenly thinking that the trade would go through next season, and not on the 23-24 season. If it’s on the 23-24 season then we wouldn’t be hardcapped in the 24-25 season.

You be crazy if you think CJ is going to the bench if he doesn’t want to. Willie Green is our coach, remember that. Lively is on the bench and he played a lot of minutes btw

It’s insane.

Marks also wrote that before learning that EJ was included in the trade.

I’m just so glad we don’t have to obsess over the Lakers draft pick anymore. Hawks problem now.

It would be less of a headache to pry KAT from Min IMO.
Other than KAT or Allen it is probably worth trading BI for a young C and picks.
We would have a full roster of fits and still have a "war chest"

In a few years, I think we will regret this trade. Basically three first round picks. I’m fine with the Lakers pick, it could still hit. I’m not including Dyson in this trade. Hawk I was ok with since he just got here.
For Trae I would have understood for Dyson. But for Murray?
This isn’t Griffs biggest blunders but I’m not fond of this trade.

Griff took away all of Willie's favorites in one offseason. Nance, Dyson, and Naji to free agency. Willie can't double down on defense anymore.

We don't have the salary now to get KAT.

Well now I feel even better about this trade.

This is the part where everyone acts like the players we traded were trash and we are better through addition by subtraction. If anything we are underrating a 6’9 PG who can guard 1-5. Dyson will be a great player
Posted on 6/28/24 at 7:59 pm to Townedrunkard
Dyson will fetch the same amount of value in a trade a few years down the line, I do believe that.
BUT you have to make this trade. Part of including him is allowing you trade BI for more.

We do, but it will cost Ingram and Herb

KAT is going into a 4/221mil contract (55mil avg) at the age of 29
Sabonis is going into a 4/186mil contract (46.5mil avg) at the age of 28
After watching KAT disappear, give me sabonis as my "center".
He can be the 3rd highest usage on that sacramento team, yet has the highest ast %. He's a 2-way player and while he can't stretch the floor he's so good facilitating he will get guys open like a mini-joker.
