While in reality, full season of Van Grundy ended up with no playoffs and a Zion ghost in the bubble.

Gentry, not SVG, was the coach in the bubble.

I already explained why SVG didn't work out (and I could have added that he had Eric Bledsoe as his PG), but I maintain that he was the kind of coach that Zion needed, and that forcing Griff to replace him and instead hire a "player's coach" for the sake of BI was a fundamental mistake. BI was never going to develop into the kind of player and leader who could take a team to title contention. Zion may never do that either, but at least the potential existed and still exists.

I can't wait for it to get leaked that Zion wants Green as his coach, which is why they kept him. It'll blow the minds of all the Zion lovers on here and force them to start singing Greens positives. It's going to be hilarious..

If I sing Green’s positives, it better be because they actually have won games and look good on the court.

Hasn’t been a lot of that lately.

You're right that was Gentry with the baton when Zion ghosted. Point still remains, everything was built around Zion, not the ancillary pieces. Zion was the centerpiece of the franchise and had all the opportunity in the world to take off, but here we are with 0 playoff appearances for him in his tenure. The issue now with banking on Zion, in addition to the uncertain availability, is that he has not really developed his game, and even at his best, I'm not sure he is a top 10 talent any longer.

Fans are going to eat this shite up, even though it’s clearly Griff leaking stuff to Stein in an attempt to wash of his hands of the disaster that is the Pelicans’ current state.

The rumors of Griff wanting to move on from Willie started midseason, Stein is just confirming those rumors.

You can read the tea leaves in Zion’s press conferences, he does not like Willie at all. Maybe as a person but definitely not as a coach.

Every player on the team has shot at Willies coaching in post game conferences. Even players no longer here shot at his coaching the last 2 seasons. It's indirect to Willie specifically, but it's direct criticism of things coaches control.

At this point, this organization has pointed their finger directly in the face of every fan and laughed uncontrollably to the point that I'm questioning any single person who puts their arse in a seat next season. This franchise doesn't deserve even an ounce of support.

Trying to paint Griff as the voice of reason is certainly a take.

I wanted Griff gone but if I had to chose between Griff and Willie, Willie would get the axe. Roster is decent enough to be competitive. Coaching and development are fricking horrible.

100 percent agree. Organization continues to be a complete and utter failure.
