When does Kira start to find minutes? I don't mean just when we're up 30 or when everyone is out. When he's out there, he's smooth and looks like one of our best guys. The speed/quickness/playmaking/finishing at the rim (!!) is awesome. And it's not like he's making dumb mistakes on defense either. I just feel like every time he sees the floor, we're raving about how good he looks, but he can never secure a role.

But he is, and that's why he isn't finding minutes.

“Finishing at the rim” not in terms of like dunking on people, but driving through traffic and making acrobatic layups around multiple defenders

That graph makes me hate Devonte Graham more than I already do, which is saying something.

Also holy shite Zion.

Part of me wonders if that graph is correct, how can you be that bad at finishing at the rim?

If Kira isn't moved at the deadline, I would like to see him worked in to the lineup a bit more just to see what we have, but I think once Dyson is healthy he won't play.

Am I reading that graph right that it is saying Zion converts 70% of his shots at the rim even those shots are extremely poor quality shots? If so further evidence that he is beyond elite.

That is correct. On the flip side as others have pointed out, Devonte Graham is really, really bad at making open layups.

Yes sir, basically saying Zion takes incredibly difficult shots at the rim while Devonte takes easy shots at the rim.

He's pretty much taking all of Graham's minutes the last two games. Let's hope Willie keeps it that way.

Yeah, I legit had to check when he started this thread, because it seems to be about a week too late.

It has to be an extremely small sample size for Graham on layups though. I can't even remember the last time he tried one. It's all 3s.

How does JV, Nance or Willy not make this chart?

There's a ton of different options that you can turn off/on, or sort by certain numbers, positions, skill sets, so on and so on. Here's with everything defaulted:

He's looked better on defense. Not saying he's great and I don't think he's even played enough to say but he isn't lost out there anymore. He's actually bulked up a little so maybe he could be a little more physical, but that's yet to be seen too.

But his defense isn't the reason he isn't seeing minutes. Unless you're just comparing him to Herb, Dyson, and Naji. If that's the case, he's never going to get minutes because he probably won't ever be as good as them on D. Other guys seized the opportunity when he got injured. I think it has more to do with how other guys have played than it does to Kira's actual game.

But he does seem to be taking DG minutes (and Dysons), although they played in the same lineup vs the Kings which was odd.

How can you be that bad when your shots are essentially unguarded. Te's open 2's are like Herb's open 3's but Te doesn't do anything else good to make up for it.

Kira has to make in game mistakes to improve. You only start to worry when the same mistakes trend for multiple games and multiple weeks.

I had to go back to the graph and find Devonte Graham after reading this post.

He’s literally off the charts bad.
