We don't have the elite clubs with the most fashionable instathots. We therefore need to go after guys who aren't focused on that lifestyle: married men, foreign players, and the rare country southern guys like Herb.

This is one of the main problems in the NBA that nobody wants to admit. The majority of players in today's NBA only want to play in NY, LA, or Miami. Sometimes Texas due to the tax laws. Pretty much anywhere else & they are trying to get out to go to one of those 3 to 4 possible places

I mean if I was a 20 something year old millionaire why the frick would I want to live in shitty arse crime riddled New Orleans, on top of the fact that the organization is run by arse clowns?

There’s more decent destinations than you mentioned but no nba player wants to live in New Orleans. Hell I grew up S LA and still live here and cannot wait to get the frick out of here. I’m just waiting for my kids to finish high school and then I’m getting the hell out of here.

So an NBA player with the Los Angeles Lakers, the most famous and storied NBA Franchise, may have been disappointed to get traded to the…. New Orleans Pelicans.

We should be so angry and tweet angrily about it. Mmk, bro.

I don’t care if Hart wanted to be here or didn’t. He was traded here and he played hard while he was here and was fun to watch when he played hard. I rooted for him then and I root for him now. If he wasn’t enthusiastic about playing for a losing team, I can get that. If he wasn’t enthusiastic vocal about that, it’s kind of good because it puts pressure on the team owner to be better

I can think of millions of reasons to be happy. They play a game that involves working out to prepare for it. They were blessed with talent to be in that situation. There are millions of people who work as hard as they do that just weren’t blessed with the talent. No reason to be mad at them, but it is not something to feel sorry for them about.

In reality all players should be super excited to even be rostered in the NBA.

New Orleans is a world class city. It’s not great to live in but let’s be honest, it’s one of the most famous cities in the world. His dig is not at New Orleans, his dig is at this franchise. It’s a fricking dumpster fire. You think anyone is excited to live in San Antonio? No, but they’d be excited to go to an organization like the Spurs. Winning cures everything.

He got traded when the Lakers had still top 10 level LeBron and were receiving top 10ish level AD. They won a championship* the next season. Just for purely basketball reasons, I don't blame him for being pissed internally about it.

On top of that he was going from LA to NOLA, which for a young 20 something year old millionaire is a huge downgrade. Again, can't blame him for being pissed internally about it.

While here he played hard, talked good about the city in interviews, social media, and his podcast, and got along with his teammates. Can't really ask for more than that from someone.

Look, I know people get defensive of the city...but it's not a great place to live and it's definitely for not everybody.

And, yes, the team is a dumpster fire.

That being said, Hart was a professional the whole time he was here. He played hard. Got engaged here. He even stayed that extra game on the sidelines to watch his teammates play after he was traded. He may not have "wanted" to come here but he did seem OK when was here. Those are two different things.

I still root for him because he's a guy that plays hard. He seems like a genuinely good guy as well.

Whether his comments are from last week or two years ago is immaterial.

Yeah this whole argument blaming players for wanting glamour markets is so silly. No one is wanting out of San Antonio or OKC right now and those cities are definitely worse than New Orleans. It’s all about the franchise and how successful they are at setting up players to succeed. All our castoffs are doing bigger and better things once leaving NO.

I think he is just trying to act like some cool guy trashing the city and I think it is bullshite. When he was traded, the Pels had offers of a 1st rounder for him He even came out and said he asked Griffin not to trade him because he wanted to be in New Orleans. Which is it Josh? Lying then or lying now?
