His production dropped when his minutes dropped. He just needs the minutes. He can atleast shoot some threes.

Everytime Herb shoots, I assume it's a miss and I'm right most of the time.

Last 10 games, 16 mpg, less than 3 shot attempts.

He's just doing nothing offensively. It's just a different kind of nothing compared to Herb.

He's an elite defender, who fouls alot and can't shoot for shite.

Herb makes elite defensive plays from time to time. He’s been cooked one too many times this year to flat out call him elite.

How does Bi and Z make Herb better offensively? Teams leave Herb open regardless..

You can't defend the Pels the same way when BI is on the court. That wall we always talking about with Zion is the same for BI except it's a lot higher out for BI which opens up what Herb is good at offensively cutting to the rim. And the problem Herb has with finishing at the rim is that without BI out there teams are packing the paint and instead of just having to finish over 1 guy when BI is out there he is having 2 to 3 guys in there.

He is killing our offense. Idk what happened but his shot and touch around the rim has disappeared. Dyson should be starting over him

They're essentially the same player right now. Both really good on defense and both giving nothing on offense.

I'd say Herb is still better on D and Dyson is for sure better on offense. Herbs defense is getting way too much hate, even with the fouls, it is still all NBA degense.

Even though Dysons offense has settled down I'm confident that he could knock down wide open shots much better than what Herb is doing. I'm not writing off Herbs offense yet, but I can't see it getting much better this year, which would be sad. But I'm not going to let his terrible shooting cloud my judgement about how important he is defensively.

Bojan would start over Herb and immediately make us damn near unstoppable on offense

He was great tonight on Durant.

I can’t believe people are shitting on Herb now. Every team needs that lockdown defender that takes the best player every night on defense and he’s our guy followed by Dyson and Naji. Herb isn’t ever going to be a 20 point a game guy but that doesn’t mean he shouldn’t be starting. When healthy we have 4 very good scorers who need the ball, having a guy like Herb that doesn’t need the ball in his hands but makes plays on D like is exactly what you want.

Totally agree.
Not sure how people can't see that.
In one breath they talk about wanting to see how BI and Zion will look together, but in reality this whole team will look better if and when that is. Then Herb, Trey, Naji and all the role players will benefit from it.

I haven't turned on Herb but I'll be the wet blanket. Pels defense tonight was at it's worst when Herb was on the court - 137.3 DRTG. They had a DRTG of 80.9 when he was off. Small sample. But story is the same for the season. Pels worst on court DRTG is Herb -112.4.

Herb is usually guarding the other teams beast player, like last night he matched up with Durant. It will look lopsided one way.

Yes, Herb offers nothing offensively, the problem is who do you replace him with in the starting lineup?

Dyson is the same black hole on offense currently.

Jaxson gives you more offensively, but then our defense suffers.

We could go out and combine Graham and Jax salaries along with picks to get a guy like Gary Trent Jr or OG who gives you defense and offense, but can we afford to pay them after this year? Would we have the shots for them once we are fully healthy?

The problem is we are missing 2 top 20 players, we have no offensive replacements for that, nobody does.

Herb's defense is worse this year. He's trying to do too much while on ball--reaching, bumping, and fouling (and complaining) way more.

Just stay in front of the man, contest the shot/pass, and the steals, blocks and missed shots will happen, like last year.

His shot also looks different, like the mechanics were changed over the offseason. It was decent before, now it looks (and is) bad.

I understand trying to do better than you did last year, but the changes have been for the worse for Herb.

Raptors are struggling now and those guys haven't been great. Might be available but they are expensive, especially for 5th options..

He’s already starting.

The point of my post is that missing BI and Zion is the problem, we are missing a majority of our offense.

That’s my point, they help now while we’re missing our two stars, but once they come back then we don’t have the role or need for them.

Missing our two stars is the problem, not the players we have

When Zion is healthy, it seems obvious to me that the answer is Trey. Pair all of Trey's minutes with Zion.
