re: Windhorst says Philly is monitoring the Brandon Ingram situation
Posted by kneenola on 5/3/24 at 7:06 pm
He and Zion won't play well together bc BI is in his own world thinking he's the best player on the floor most nights. Last post-game interview video below.
I feel for him bc he became the face of the franchise before Zion, and nobody wants to get surpassed as the top guy after thinking you foun...

Some people def have it more than others, but bring in whomever you want and they'll be held back some if subjugated to a leader who's soft.
We just need a more talented head coach all around...
How were we going to win with Zion out and Ingram (and McCollum) playing like dog poo?
Green is not a good coach. But nobody is scheming victories when their stars don't show up. We never had a chance.
Yeah Willie isn't good at X&Os, but my main knock is he doesn't instill the m...

Willie is a good man but yes has hit his ceiling as head coach. I think he did accomplish the main thing they hired him for at the time post SVG, mentor and culture for a team with some young and/or immature players, mainly Zion and BI.
Three years later, we got to a better place, but Willie has...
They need to play that clip on a loop in the locker room and over the speakers during practice constantly until tip off of game four.
They really should, but Willie is wired to just clap for them and double down on words of encouragement...

Losing the San Antonio game while sitting Zion for a minor finger injury was so stupid. Cost us so much more with this extra game...

NBA email says free league pass for today. Just make an NBA account. Local blackout applies so apparently won't help locals:

re: How can we keep Jonas and Naji next year?
Posted by kneenola on 3/26/24 at 5:27 pm
There's better cap people on this board, but looks to me like we can bring everyone back and stay under the tax for one more year, 2024-25, if we don't overpay.
Those contracts would then put us in the tax for 2025-26 though, so we'd have one more season to decide whether to keep it together or ...

Herb has been a better basketball player than Trey every step of the way.
I like Trey, but this board in general talks him up too much. ...

re: Zion has added a corner 3 to his game over the asb
Posted by kneenola on 2/22/24 at 7:49 am
I'd be happy if he just worked on his free throws.
Seems like adding just a bit of arc is all he needs, because he has a good stroke. His made FTs generally hit the back rim, they don't really ever swish...

Price increase sucks, but we also need to know if there's 9 regular season games in the dome this year. The only other time we were supposed to have 9, one of them was moved to London.
The NFL announced the home teams for Europe but not yet for the game in Brazil. Am I paying for 8 regular season...
re: Siakam to Pacers, Kira to Raps, Pels send 2nd
Bi, Jose and Naji are extremely close. Hang out a lot outside of the team.
Hmm in that case, maybe Zion meant that Naji and Jose were BI's best friends. It was kind of a weird dialogue. Either way, the point about not trading Naji for the sake of the locker room is still basically ...
Now trade Naji
During the IST press conference with Zion and BI, Zion implied Naji and Jose were his best friends on the team. If that's the case, I'd rather just keep Naji than disrupt the locker room midseason especially because Zion is kinda fragile mentally.
I want Hawk to p...
re: Small sample size, but is this the lineup of the future?
The fact that Zion and Trey sub in for each other and don’t play together more is inexcusable.
If all you're saying is Zion and Trey should play together more, then I agree. The original post went way beyond that.
And Herb has been terrific with the open 3 all season, if he gets...
We need to see more of these Zion and shooters lineups
No, it's not the lineup of the future. Dyson is a shooter now? Better than BI, Herb, and Hawk? It's the only plus lineup because Denver just played really well most of the night. It happens.
And this narrative is overblown n...
re: James Borrego
Posted by kneenola on 12/27/23 at 11:56 am
When Borrego speaks, I sense he has more edge and depth than Willie, which is what this team needs.
A coach with some mamba mentality would totally change the attitude of this team during crunch time. No more lack-of-focus passes like BI's telegraphed pass/turnover to JV that was the turning poin...
