Well for starters, Hill's contract is about to be an asset

technically you're correct. unless we plan on using cap space to sign someone in free agency OR trade and take on players into space

Horrible trade. There’s a major drop off after 7. I would have gave pause for 8 and 10, much less for 17. Griff fricked this up

How can you say this when we don't know who the top 7 will be?

This might not be too bad. There are some good value player that can give usnpermiter shooting. Just hope we land them. I’d rather the picks than Love

Pels DUMPED Hill. Moved back FOUR spots and ADDED more. How is this not a win?

This

You get the same caliber player at 8 as you would at 4. Collect assets for another move if nothing else

You can’t fix this organization with just 1 move bc it took a lot to get to this point. You gotta TTP zimmy

Chill the hell out, all of you. As if Griff doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt. SMH

I love how 10 minutes ago Griffin was a genius. Now he's Dell Demps apparently.

Here's the thing: if you honestly believe in our front office and our ability to scout this draft properly, then we are better off with more lower picks than the equivalent value of high picks. The reason for that is that, if our front office is better than other teams', it means that we are going to be better at finding the diamond in the rough.

It's really not that hard to draft at #4 -- there are really only three guys that we could take. At #17, there are about a dozen guys that we could take, and knowing which one to take makes all the difference.

I mean we basically gave up a good draft pick for 1 decent one and two useless ones

Just to get rid of a bad contract

boy if Garland ends up being a stud, this trade is going to haunt the franchise for years

Jaxson Hayes? That’s a weird way to spell Goga.

Twitter saying that the Hawks wanted either Hunter or Reddish and are currently planning on Hunter.

Looks like Cleveland may be seeing if they can get Chicago or Phoenix to bid up Garland.

Man am I the only one that is happy with this?

Moved back only 4 spots, get an extra 13 mill in cap that can be used on a player that isn’t a corpse, gain a 1st, a future protected pick and an early 2nd that you can package.

Wtf does this mean “Atlanta is also sending Cleveland a heavily protected first-round pick in 2020 to the Pelicans, sources said.”.

Are they sending Cleveland’s 2020 first to pels too??

That would mean we got 3 firsts & a 2nd for 4 and 57... while dumping solo.. ?

I'm happy with the trade. I think Griff wants a certain guy or two, and he knows he can get one of them at 8, and wasn't big on Garland.
Boston gained assets simply by trading down and getting the guy they would have drafted anyway if they didn't trade down.
