Yeah, I recall now. So basically we moved down 4 spots for 17, 35 and 2 future seconds while giving up 57 (who cares) and a future second. Also cleared space.

Does this give us close to enough to get a max player in free agency?

Kind of depends who is available and for what.

I don’t care if he only costs a 2nd, I’m not taking Frank N from the Knicks.

Simmons:

Another good Pelicans trade. Griffin is like Costner in the last 25 minutes of Draft Day right now

it's a solid trade, shed a contract, get some more ammo to trade and opens up cap space

Not a fan of this trade. How do we not at least get 8&10

Why do we need more cap space right now? Feel like Hill's contract would be more valuable at the deadline.

Only thing I can think of isGriffin has another trade in mind that he will need both cap space and picks to acquire. I'm thinking we send a pick or two (but not #8) to the cavs for Love.

Not sent that's what I want. Just that I can see Griffin doing it

Pels DUMPED Hill. Moved back FOUR spots and ADDED more. How is this not a win?

What happens to a heavily protected pick if it ends up falling in the protection range? It just goes away and Pels don't get anything?

Sure, we could come close to handing out a max, but the Pels aren't getting an actual max level player for that max.

Everyone has money, including a ton of teams more desirable than the Pels right now, if you want to Max someone like Horford you could probably get him, but you arnet getting Kemba, Kawhi, Durant, Klay, or Jimmy.

A bunch of morons on this board. You all seriously think their will be that big of a talent gap in pick 4 and 8? Get the frick out. This is a great trade. Add two more young pieces in at 8 and 17, hopefully a big, and we have enough money to throw 15-17 mill a year at Niko and go get someone else for 8-10 mill
