Well, hopefully the interview all of the guys that could go in the top 10 picks. They have 18 interviews, use them.

I just hope they draft neither.

That's 2 top 10ish bigs with Poetl and Skal.

i dont consider Skal to be a big. I think he would actually fit on this team

eta: i know "bigs" are defined differently by everyone. im think bigs as strict 5s

skal measured 7' in shoes I want to say, but the guy is fluid and can shoot the 3

drafting a guard or center is fine with me if that means asik/ajinca/tyreke are going elsewhere.

He shot 0% from 3 at UK. What in the hell would lead you to believe he can shoot the 3????

Dude was kind of hot garbage most of the year for UK. He has no business even being in this draft, let alone us drafting him and him "fitting on this team".

I respect the shite out of your opinion usually but here I absolutely vehemently disagree. He's definitely a PF/C and not a great one.

Our front office are fricking morons. We have a shite load of combo guards and bigs, so we interview combo guards and bigs?

We did interview Deandre Bembry, a late 1st round SF a lot of teams are intrigued by.

The value isn't there in the 1st round in picks 3-8 for a SF.

This team needs to go BPA. Would love a wing, but lets get real.

Apparently Skal knocked down 3s at the Nike Hoops Summit...to which I say, who gives a frick? Guys do all sorts of thing in those types of settings.

He didn't do it in actual games. And I have not seen anything anywhere that lists Skal as anything but a PF/C at the next level. PF/C is a "big".

Just what SF do you want them to interview? Depending on how you feel about Valentine's position, Taurean Prince might be the only 1st round graded SF at the combine outside of Simmons/Ingram.

He attempted 2 3P at UK and only played 15 mpg. Doesn't tell the whole story on Skal

Watch his workouts. He's a very skilled 7' . Sometime you just have to see the skill/potential and take a chance it develops.

A big, to me, plays with his back to the basket the majority of the time. This will not be Skal.

Well you disagree with a lot of people smarter than me then

And I never said he wasn't a 4. He's not a 5

Re: the draft; SF is a need. So is 2nd big (stretch or otherwise) to play next to Davis. And with Holiday/Evans both expiring and questions about durability/fit, a lead guard makes sense too. So basically BPA seems okay

Now if they continue to sign combo guards and bigs to fill out the roster like they have the last few years....

So you're saying he's a Lamar Odom type? Was he playing out of position at UK and that's why so many people have soured on him? We do know that AD's offensive skills were fairly well hidden playing his role in Kentucky.

No. He just wasn't/isn't very good. Anyone drafting him will be strictly based on potential.

Well he's Haitian and has limited exposure to structured Bball before coming to UK. So his struggles aren't surprising to most

As far as his measurables, people are likening him to Amare. I think Chad Ford or someone like that said his skills reminded them of a Channing Frye

People were impressed with him enough to be consider #1 overall for awhile. Obviously people soured once he couldn't get going for UK. Now his stock is rising back up. I'm not necessarily saying we should draft him, but depending on where we slot and if we want to swing for a potential stud, why not?

Until he, ya know, played basketball. Which he wasn't particularly good at.

There's no denying the potential, but that is strictly all he is. If you're at 10, yeah, worth the risk I think. That's no man's land in the draft and you have to start either taking big risks or guys with extremely low ceilings but high floors, one or the other.

we should add best player available.

as for Poeltl, from David Fisher

Jakob Poeltl has a terrifyingly low standing reach (8'9.5") for a center.

I need to do some research to see if there are any good centers with such a low reach.
