re: here's how good anthony davis has been this year - corndeaux
It's not about the tax or the player salaries. There's a salary floor and very few NBA teams go over the tax It's the uncapped spending where they are cheap. Do they pay top dollar for scouting, statistical analysis, coaching, training, medical help, etc? Do they pay to have dedicated NBA busines...

It has a tremendous cast. It is a beautiful show. It is boring as frick and poorly plotted, like a lot of Netflix originals. I watched season 1 and called it. ...

re: Does this season matter for Anthony Davis timeline? - corndeaux
I think the offers will be roughly the same, honestly. For me, holding onto Davis when everyone knows he's out (assuming he doesn't sign the DPE) just torpedos your own season on the court and in the stands. Your point about being stuck with someone else's drafted players is a good one though. ...

re: Does this season matter for Anthony Davis timeline? - corndeaux
if they don't get him to sign the DPE this summer, they can hold onto him and hope for the best in 19/20. but that's fairly crazy. unless they pull off something akin to the Cousins trade (land a top 15 player), that 19/20 team is DOA and just playing out the string until Davis is traded or walk...

i'd do that trade right now Griffin is losing a step and injury history is scary, but he is still very good. he would be the best creator (maybe passer too) on the Pels...
Its crazy, but something as small as having Satoransky instead of Frazier this year, and they are fighting for the 3 seed right now.
vintage Pels: trade for PG of the future, lock him up to near max deal, and then realize he isn't a PG have a season that may ultimately de...

re: We're halfway through the season sons - corndeaux
Nuggets are very good. They also aren't likely to get out of the 2nd round, at best. It's tough for Pels fans to understand, but they are a team built properly over multiple years around the talents of their All-NBA level talent. That doesn't mean they will ever sniff a title or even got a confer...

yeah. biggest disappointment for me before all the injuries was that Randle wasn't enough to lift the bench units to merely bad. a herculean task, no doubt, but the bar is just not a catastrophe...
kanter would be very interesting in the kings rotation
wouldn't like that for them. he's going to slow them down. i'd call Orlando and see what's available. Aaron Gordon would be a tremendous get for what they are doing. are the Magic still sold on him w/ Vucevic balling ou...
The team is leaning more and more towards the idea that they have 13 months to sell Anthony. Not 4.
lol. wish they had thought this way about 6 years ago.
They don't seem to think AD will demand a trade. He just won't sign his extension this summer, but won't demand a t...
last time a star left the threat of the team not being far behind was real.
The league had to buy the team from the broke owner. There wasn't a billionaire who also owns an NFL franchise running the show. If they ever decided to truly invest in the team and consider more than ...
regards to winning at a high level.
more like just winning
running a profitable NBA team. In an era where about the only way to lose money is to be a non contending tax payer that may not be saying much
this is a pretty self-defeating argument given 1- we ca...

re: Deadspin article about Pels - corndeaux
The difference is that a merely competent organization wouldn't be okay with a Dell Demps running the show for as long as he has given his results. You can quibble with titles. Crewz's point still stands- it's a poorly run organization because, at the end of the day, ownership just doesn't partic...

there's even a Sean Payton quote about the Saints ditching Suri as their doctor because of repeated frickups
In August 2017, the Saints made national headlines after firing two orthopedists following a misdiagnosis of cornerback Delvin Breaux’s broken leg as a bone bruise. One of those fire...
I think people tend to forget just how bad the injury luck has been with this franchise
at some point, among the league leaders in games lost for years, it's not about luck and more about process from the organization. again, the Haberstroh article lays this pattern out pretty c...

re: Deadspin article about Pels - corndeaux
I agree. They seem to be trying to change course. Haberstroh article is a really good, long detailed look at all of that. Talks about Brooks being fired. Also talks about Suri being fired by the Saints, but staying on with the Pels. I imagine they have their reasons, but it's, again, a tough ...
