re: Pels are Trying a Different Formula for Success - corndeaux
this is why doitbig drives me nuts. it's false advertising the Pels are an infinitely more conventional team w/o Cousins. their best lineups are Davis at the 5 surrounded by shooting. this is smart, modern basketball. not some genius plan Demps or Ferry or Gentry came up with
the Pe...

re: DoItBig - corndeaux
you know the doitbig campaign kills me. but....it's interesting- the Pels feasted on postups after switches. Randle and Davis just annihilated their mismatches. also, if Randle can hit jumpers at a reasonable clip (no matter how ugly they look), this will get tasty. still worried about rim pro...

re: My one tiny complaint - corndeaux
The improved depth must lead to resting the All Pros
Let's say they both play 34 mpg. 20 mpg together, 14 Davis on Holiday off, 14 Holiday on Davis off. what's the issue?...

re: must-read, 42's season preview - corndeaux
solid stuff overall. defense being the identity and as much of the Cousins stuff as I could actually read was good. dude could certainly use an editor as his wont, he is forever a martyr and a genius.
there are still lazy takes and typical disparagement from those who have to resort ...

re: Pels trade Aijinca for Wes Johnson - corndeaux
Looking for Jackson or Okafor to play a significant role on a 50 win team is, politely, optimistic. Jackson is 20 and coming off a year long injury; he's also not Ben Simmons. He needs time- maybe he shows out over the year, but night to night from the start is a tall ask. That people are callin...

re: Ahole on espn.com admits to intentionally rooting against us so AD leaves - corndeaux
There are advantages to being in LA, NYC, SF. Just like there are disadvantages to being in OKC, Portland, San Antonio, Memphis, and Salt Lake City. Good ownership and luck are the main drivers of team success. One interesting thought-out Secret history of the league could make a case for s...

re: Ahole on espn.com admits to intentionally rooting against us so AD leaves - corndeaux
Great point. Cap structure forced the Pels to make the moves they made. It also caused all the injuries to the players. If only they used the cap structure like those competitve, large market Chicago Bulls and New York Knicks and Brooklyn Nets...

re: Question about Giannis and AD - corndeaux
Clear paradgim shift in his thinking
This comes hand in hand with so many Pels fans being excited about Davis taking control and showing more attitude/confidence in his abilities. If he is the best player in the world, then he is going to expect his franchise to be at his level....

re: Question about Giannis and AD - corndeaux
I don't know if you are on social media much, but the "Giannis isn't staying in Milwaukee" storyline has been much louder than the AD one over the last week or so. There are "unnamed execs and GM's" coming out and saying he is good as gone. This is not unique to New Orleans. It happens ev...

re: Anthony Davis signs with agent Rich Paul - corndeaux
going to Klutch was to make up for his marketing deficiencies

raise his profile.
sure. but looking at what Embiid just got and saying "well Davis should get that- he's a better player than Embiid and now has Klutch" is ignoring some pretty obvious truths ...

re: Biggest X Factor? - corndeaux
Payton, then Randle. Payton pretty obvious and probably going to disappoint re: expectations Pels fans have. Randle is much more interesting to me. Can he defend the rim/paint effectivley? How do he and Davis interact on offense- is there too much overlap or is Davis forced to be more of a pe...
Considering both are non shooters I do think there's a chance it could happen
what are the chances that the Pels are good enough to keep Davis interested in staying and those guys (+ Mirotic) stay in the price range the Pels can afford? seems like a narrow window there since tho...

re: Three Articles - corndeaux
Trade a first for Asik
trading a first for Asik was actually a good move (aside from pick protection). they just went through a season w/ Steimsma, Withey, Ajinca, and Smiht as 5s. Asik was a big part of their playoff run
Have God’s gift to Center(AD) on the roster re a...

re: justin verrier, pelicans "best case/worst case" - corndeaux
There is no F'ing way AD walks away from a supermax
i don't know. it just depends on what he values most at that point in his career. Davis will have banked over $121M in his career by 2020. he will almost certainly get at least another ~$150-$175m guaranteed in his next contrac...

fair. their luck has been wretched at some point though, if this happens for 4 years straight, you would think he should try to adjust. that he would try to bring in more quality depth. that he might realize his grand strategy of punting on the draft and signing young vets to 4 year, mid-tier con...
I put most of it on the roster though. Due to either injury or miscalculation the rosters have just had too much dead weight on them
agree. Demps has struggled to build rosters with talents that mesh well together and fit his desired style of play (which seems to be fast paced, ...
