Bill Simmons insinuates Gayle is a clueless gold-digger

On his pod with Russillo he claims he did a "deep dive" on Gayle Benson. Starts off saying at the center of this Davis thing is this "clueless Pelicans owner".
Next he recaps what seems like a 5 minute Google search that he did and basically claims that Gayle stole the team from Tom's grandkids. Says it's a "red flag" that they got married in 2004 when Tom was in his 70s and that there were reports that he had dementia when she "convinced him" to cut his family out of his will. Says this "feels like it should be a bigger story".
Yeah it was a big story when Tom cut ties with his crazy family, buddy. It just happened outside of your Boston-LA bubble.
Bill should really just avoid talking Pels.

If you think Simmons is clueless about the NBA landscape, then my friend, it’s actually you.
Now does he nail every situation? No...but there are few, if any that have a better grasp on the league.
Two of his protégés, KOC and Zach Lowe, are the cream of the crop when it comes to NBA journalism.
Jackie McMullen, a friend of Bill, & Woj(whom Simmons fanboys over) are probably the best. Bill has plenty of sources in the NBA, including Justin Verrier, former Pelicans beat writer on staff , NOLA local Micah Peters on staff , among many many front office, coaches & players.
Gayle has finally come out and laid the smack down, which I 100% applaud her for, but stop with this Simmons is an idiot garbage.

There are a large number who have a better grasp on the current NBA landscape. Simmons knows a lot about league history. He knows far less than most national writers about current NBA. His takes also often come from a fanboy perspective so it’s hard to ever take them seriously.
