Yeah, it mattered. If it hit top 5, there would be dozens of more threads about this, and tons of posters on here would be doing victory laps. They were all ready to hammer this super hard. So, it mattered a lot.

I'm happy we can should all be able to move past this. I doubt that will actually happen, and many will still harp on it. But it should shift some of the focus to our future construction, and what we do going forward.

Depends on who gets named HC . It seems like Zion and Queen together was a bad experiment this year. Queen still got plenty of learning. Let’s hope DeAndre Jordan can teach him some defense too.

We aren’t pissed enough, IMO.

Nobody in that front office should have a job after last season.

There is zero percent chance we make that deal unless we thought we’d be a playoff team, and despite having a pretty healthy roster and drafting good rookies, we won 26 games.

That level of incompetence is a GTFO level mistake.

The guy who pitched a trade so bad that other teams didn’t believe it was real, and the person who hired him

Do you honestly think they are firing Dumars after less than a year on the job? Seriously, is that what you think could, should, or will happen?

That's just not in any way realistic. I'm not defending Dumars, but I mean come on. That's just not going to happen. He gets at least 2 more years to try to do whatever he's going to do.

We had horrible health this year. Only 3 guys hit 70 games, two were the rookies. Still too many guys missing too many games. The Poole thing was a disaster. I still do not understand what the hell happened there. Way too many guys missing time for no reason or mysterious circumstances. We should have easily hit 32 wins, probably closer to 35. We let too many easy wins go..

You think the 8th player in this draft will get a 30 point triple double against a playoff team? Queen is a NBA caliber player. Y’all just love bitching. I be shocked if we do worse next year than this year.

Should he be fired? Of course. He never should have been hired.

I have no doubt that he’s safe for this coming year and probably a few more afterwards regardless of performance.

Because he wasn’t hired based on his acumen. We didn’t do a search or conduct a bunch of interviews or any of that shite.

We hired a friend, and we are gonna get friend results.

Without checking the data, I’d wager we were right in the middle of the pack as far as injuries in the league.

And it’s not like injuries are ever a surprise with this group anyway.

You cannot trade a pick in this draft the way we did. It’s inexcusable.

I guess I’m confused. Why does 8 matter? The Peis tried to win games. If they had the draft pick, they probably tank . It’s not the same .

What about the 5th pick? If you think we would have ended up at 8 while trying to win, then we would have the Pacers 5th pick.

if we had their pick, the Pacers wouldn't have tanked - no pick 5. Too many variables. Let's just say the trade could have looked much worse.

It’s not about doing better or worse next year. It’s about winning a championship sometime over the next decade.

Putting a slightly more competitive team on the floor next year is meaningless when the goal should be a championship.

Dumars lowered the probability of a championship with the moves he made.

I’m probably in the minority but that all has to do with coaching. If we can get a good HC, I think we can make playoffs. We have young talented players and no bad contracts. Poole is expiring (which can be a good trade piece) and Zion is easily tradable for teams who wants to take risks. If we can get SVG’s Zion, we be in playoffs easily.

Honestly it really isn't for us. It sucks to say, but for us it would be nice just to build a good organization that makes the playoffs consistently and has a run to the 2nd and 3rd rounds here and there

So no sophomore slump? We are declaring Queen MVP next season?

Signed,

Yves
Missi

Did Queen even get any ROY votes this season?

The pick should have been protected at least

We were trading #23 for a lottery pick. No team will take that past Top 4-6 protected. Most fans would have been comfortable with a Top 4 protected and called Dumars a genius for Top 6 protected.

33pts/ 10reb/ 10ast (VS Wemby)
14pts/ 16reb/ 12ast
30pts/ 22reb
30pts/ 9reb/ 4ast (VS Jokic)
20 pts/ 7 reb/ 11ast

Queen is top 5-8 in a redraft in an elite level draft class where all the top picks hit. Yeah Dumars is a genius.

The reality is that it really shouldn't matter HOW we ended up with (2) badass young players that both played the whole season. Both dudes have more composure/ maturity than our 2 #1 picks AD/ Zion and out performed the only other hit we have had in the draft for 20+ years in Trey Murphy.

That's success no matyer how we got here.

I'm actually wondering if we had held onto the pick and dealt the 2026 pick to Atlanta, Halliburton injury, how that would have played out.

We lucked out but we got robbed. Both can be true

Agreed but its unfair to be pissed about both. You can't say we traded the #5 + #8 pick because Dumars would NOT have done that and he didn't. The Pacers trade may have been dumb but the Queen trade was awesome. Both can be true for that as well. Just sick of people attacking the Queen trade based on a completely different trade.

Its like Dallas fans being upset about the AD trade with the Wizards because of Luka.

Or us being upset about the Jrue trade because of AD. It just stupid.
