We don't have any terrible contracts, have all of our future assets past this year, and have the 4th youngest team in the NBA. And that's with 37 y/o Deandre Jordan counting against us.
We are literally youngest team in the NBA with the most talent outside of OKC/ SAS and yet that's a BAD THING?

How did it work out for us? It only worked out for us if we made the playoffs. Many posters on here were saying this was easily a playoff team before the season. We were one of the worse teams in the league until the tanking teams really fired up the tank, while we were the only one trying to win. It’s the only reason we moved down.
Very good chance we keep the Pacers pick and our pick if the trade doesn’t happen. We effectively gave up two top ten picks for #13. That’s a bad return or just piss poor asset management anyway you slice.
If we gave the Hawks a pick in the teens, I’d say you have an argument, but that didn’t happen.

We gave up #23 and #8 for #13 who is Top 8 in a redraft. One redraft has him at #8 and the other at #5.
There is no telling whether whoever we draft at #8 would be better than Queen but I can't wait to compare their careers.
Some of you can't accept that Dumars would have never traded #5 and #8 and didn't. He traded #23/ #8 for Queen and that looks very good.

You are taking something that isn't comparable and trying to deduct your own opinion from it. The actual facts are that we have Derik Queen on the roster. The only way I don't have an argument is if Queen sucks.
You don't have an argument because it literally doesn't exist. You are taking an imaginary pick, putting an imaginary player in the draft spot, and then assuming that imaginery person is better than the real person who has performed.
I could "argue" that our 2027 draft pick is 10x better than Chris Paul but it doesn't actually mean a fricking thing because that person doesn't exist and it would actually be insane to assume that. What you can argue is how good CP3 actually was and what he did for our Franchise.
You are opening the door for future opinions like:
"Yeah Derik Queen was a 10x all star and we won Champioships but what if the other player we drafted was Lebron and won 4+ championships".
Absolutely insane and sad. The goal posts will continue to be moved. Just be happy that we may have 2 studs and a bright future.

Ive seen DQ put up 30 point triple doubles but apparently he sucks and can’t develop. The kid literally said he’s working out with Deandre to get his body better. So it’s clear he wants to get better and will put in the work.

He's literally better than Jokic was his rookie year but "what if the other player ended up to be Kareem Abdul Jabbar"

You are arguing semantics. Did the Pels own the 2026 Pacers top 4 protected pick? Yes or no? Did that pick land at #5? Yes or no?
Did Dumars trade that pick just to get a pick in last years draft to move up for Queen? Yes or no?
He gave up #23 and #8 but it cost us #5 and #8 to obtain #13. You can argue till you blue in the face about what ifs with the Pacers pick. I could argue the same about our # 8 pick being higher if we didn’t have anything to lose since we didn’t own it. It cuts both ways. But on paper today, the ultimate cost to obtain Queen was #5 and #8….

Proof that odds means jack shite. Atlanta had a 40% chance of landing a top 4 pick with the Pelicans and Bucks combinations in the lottery and ended up losing a position.

Perfectly said. It happened and now it’s over with. We got 2 good young players last year. Maybe 3 if Peavy pans out. Just need a head coach to put it all together.
