All things considered not bad. But we still 100% should have NEVER made that trade.

The pick should have been protected at least

So we indirectly traded this years 5th pick and 8th pick for Queen? Obviously still horrible, but not nearly as bad as it could have turned out

What we’ll never know is what the record would’ve been without Queen and playing the 23rd pick. Probably worse than 26 wins maybe 20 and a much better chance at a top 5 pick this season.

Still a very reckless move.

I don’t think Pacers would tank if they didn’t have their pick. You can watch some games and see how Rick Carlisle benches his starters in the fourth.

The indy pick hurts more. Even if it wouldn't be 5th because they had no reason to tank.

I assume just about everyone would trade Derik Queen for the 5th and 8th pick?

And we’d have both our own picks and the bucks pick next year if we don’t trade for Murray.

A small market team should never trade away first round picks until its roster is truly full.

they were bad even before tanking. They were playing all their players and trying for half the season. Losing Haliburton hurt them more than pels fans thought it would.

You can use this same logic for us. We clawed our way out of last place because we had no incentive to tank.

If we don’t make the trade and control our own pick, we absolutely tank and end up with a top 3 pick in this draft.
