Jokic didn't have a Trip Dub until his 2nd season. I will stand by my comment from 6+ months ago that Dumars is a genius and it was a great trade.

What? You’re an idiot. Queen clearly shows that he can be a NBA player. He’s working out with DJ the whole off season. You can clearly see his IQ and potential. Sophomore slump isn’t really a thing in the NBA. Especially for someone who has great IQ.

Being upset that we ended up with Fears/ Queen because of the Pacers trade is comparable to being upset that we acquired Saddiq Bey because we traded BI. It sounds stupid because it is.

This board loves to do a lot of “what ifs” Pacers was trying to tank to keep their pick. Nembhard and Zubac got a lot of DNP or taken out early at the end of the season. You be crazy to think they weren’t tanking.

I already said the Pacers trade was dumb in hindsight. I've also argued adnauseam about how it still made sense at the time and could have easily been worth the risk. No one wants to think about what if Hali DIDN'T get hurt and if Turner then inevitably stayed.
I forgot that the only "what ifs" have to be worse case scenario and shitting on the Pels.

Yes they purposely let Turner walk and slow rolled their stars back instead of putting them out there for a play-in birth. Whether you want to accept that or purposely ignore it for your own argument sake is on you.

I remember when you were making these posts 10× a day when the trade first happened, then when we were a bottom three team in the league you disappeared for the rest of the season, knowing how stupid you looked.
Now that the pick landed at #8, you're back claiming it was brilliant again.
If we hadnt traded the pick, we would've tanked instead of trying to win every game and that pick wouldve been alot higher than #8. It wasn't genius then and its not genius now.
I'd take the top 5 players in this class over Queen, as would everyone who isnt a fan of this team. But keep banging that drum. We all see you.

Even if we kept that pick, they still lose Turner, so they lost 2 of their best 3 players. They weren’t making the playoffs so it was going to be a lottery pick either way…

We’d have a top 5 pick, and the Pacers pick would probably still be around ten or twelve or higher than the pick we used on Queen. Dumars is an idiot and any one that says he’s a genius is an even bigger idiot….

How do you know we will get the 5th pick though? The lottery is a crapshoot. Even if we did, do you really think the 5th pick can be as good as Queen? All I see from this draft is top 3. I’m not a fan of boozer at all. Queen isn’t a bust and we should be happy that we got a guy like that on our team.
The trade was dumb for not being protected, but it’s over with and yall still complain. Just be happy the way it turned out. Geez.

Why does this matter when you and others would STILL bitch the whole time about how pathetic we are for tanking and STILL bitch about how we are going to tank, get screwed in the lottery, or end up with a bust? And THEN bitch the entire year that the player we drafted isn't doing good enough to justify the pick?

If you exclude AD/ Zion/ CP3 then here are the next best lottery picks the Pelicans have made in their ENTIRE FRANCHISE HISTORY:
1. Jeremiah Fears
2. Derik Queen

I thought we played really well when all of our starters played. Wasn’t a fan of Herb at the 5 and that’s why Borrego isn’t getting the HC job.
