The Lakers have two top ten players, so when they play, they typically look good. The problem is one of those top ten players is Mr. Glass with a vagina and the other one is damn near 100 in basketball years. They will play together for like 35 games during the regular season.

Ricky Henderson could do that shite because he was Ricky Henderson.
Toni? Less so.

starting lineup of Patbev, hield, lebron, AD, Turner is pretty good if healthy
2 #1s though. so no low cost players for several years .
the time for that was 10 days ago. its not happening with no preseason left.

Players willingly take low-cost offers just to be in L.A.

People take low offers to play for a winner.
The Lakers are not a winner as of now.
Only reason they were able to turn over the bottom half of their roster was that Klutch sent all their guys there.

Yep, toward the end of Kobes tenure they couldnt get anyone. Guys like Aldridge would refuse to go there. I expect the same thing as Lebron nears the end. Yea, they'll get solid role players hoping for a cheap ring. But no one of significance until they blow it up

There is a part of me that goes the other way on this Russ shitshow and think it may end up helping the Lakers.
What I mean is, a lot of the pods I've been listening to seem to insinuate that Hield/Turner deal was or even is on the table from Indy's side and it's the Lakers who are holding off. So basically, they may be able to get Hield/Turner at any moment but are holding off for something better.
The more the Russ stuff goes off the rails, it is potentially that much quicker a deal may be made and thus the Lakers getting better sooner rather than later.

Pay attention to Golden state to start the year. I can see it being a 3 team situation with draymond being moved too

General version I have heard is that Indy will send both but the price is two unprotected firsts and that the Lakers aren’t desperate enough to bite yet.
Problem for the Lakers is that at some point, someone WILL make them an offer on one or both guys which likely kills them as a landing spot for Westbrook.
If Indy moves on, is there a deal that the Lake Show is willing to roll the dice on?

indy and SA are the only two teams that can take russ' salary. if the lakers trade those two picks AND keep russ, that would be some high comedy

The reason they haven't made a deal is they are still holding out for Kyrie. I think they hold out until the deadline and then what they do or not depends a lot on how well their season has gone to that point.

Don't they just need to be able to salary match?
Posted on 10/13/22 at 5:57 pm to shel311
any team can salary match. but who are the lakers going to get for those two picks that makes it worth it? hield & turner at least makes SOME sense.
the bottom feeders outside SA & IND dont have anything to offer like that.

When are we getting back to saying frick the lakers? Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate intelligent discussion and all, but there isn’t enough frick the lakers going on here. We can do better.

It’s always frick the lakers, we can discuss their downfall and that juicy #1 pick they’re going to get us this year tho
Posted on 10/14/22 at 8:23 am to Soggymoss
That works for me, but sprinkle some frick the lakers in there.
Example:
Pat Bev and Westbrook are incompatible and the age of Lebron coupled with Toní’s bitchassness makes this a combustible situation. In summary, frick the lakers.
