I’m convinced they win 50 just to frick us. One last gasp for Lebron.

I don't know how much preseason truly matters but the Lakers just went 1-5 and were outscored by 98 points.

Being down 60+ in a preseason game to the Kings is an ominous sign.
Lakers are gonna suck.
Lakers are gonna suck.

That’s a sign of no depth at all. The starters will keep them in a lot of games and they will win some games they’re not supposed to, but eventually they will wear down. If lebron or toní goes down they’re cooked

LOL
Utah asked for Stanley Johnson in the bev trade, who the lakers could have used, then waived him. Lakers can’t re sign him for a year

I saw that. Hilarious.
Lakers being bad in preseason means what we already know: their depth is absolute trash.

Yep. Just like last year, they will be a decent team as long as LeBron and Davis are healthy. And no sane person would expect that to be the case for most of the season.

Davis didn’t play and lebron stats looked bad so yeah I imagine they got blown out
But if you by 60 at one point that’s alarming. Depth gonna destroy them against deep teams like pels.

I decided to look at the 1st quarter of each game, as that's when teams would generally have their starters and top reserves on the court.
In this preseason, the Lakers outscored their opponents 177-172 in those 1st quarters. That's a sign that they'll be fine, as long as Davis and LeBron play.

The Lakers are waiting to trade Westbrook and the two firsts for a star later.
For the Pels the worse the Lakers start out the better. Need them to panic and trade for Turner and Heild instead of possibly getting Lillard or Beal.

quote:Ehhh. I wouldn't use it to mean much but if we are, the Lakers are going to have to be much better than +5 in a sample size like that to make up for the minutes where 1 or both are not on the floor.

I imagine they'd give most of that back and be net negative or neutral at best.

That’s good info GOP put together
I’d tend to agree w Shel that it’s concerning they only won those minutes by 5.
What happens if AD sits? I’d imagine Lebron could still win his minutes (he is old now though)
When Lebron sits and it’s only AD (we’ve already seen a 8-9 year sample size of AD losing those minutes)
Both sit at any juncture of the game- they will get killed
If either or both get injured- they will get killed
I think this is shaping up to be another 32-38 win season for the Lakers tbh.

They will both miss significant time due to injury. Once that happens, front running LeBoo will pack it in.

So if both players play 36 minutes and stagger, that'd 24 minutes or half the game where it'll be either only Lebron or AD and 4 meh dudes. That'll be really hard to overcome as those 24 minutes are likely to be losing minutes for the season. Keep in mind that not only is their supporting cast worse this season but last season the Lakers were outscored even in the minutes where Lebron and AD were on the court.

Definitely frick the lakers.
You know who else? frick American Airlines. Yesterday I flew out to head to Gainesville. Had hotel lined up (non-refundable), tickets (non-refundable), and meeting buddies.
I fly out at 0700 to Charlotte, en route to Jacksonville. Get to Charlotte, hustle to my connecting flight, and it’s ducking Jacksonville NC. frick me.
Okay, time to audible. Let me just adjust fire, get to my destination, laugh about this shite later. Flight to Jacksonville FL, no luck. Tampa? No luck. Orlando? No luck. Gainesville? No fricking luck. Good news, my return flight is through Jacksonville FL…
600 bucks later, a flight to Dallas, then NOLA. I flew enough to be in Europe but wound up back in NOLA, no football game, no hanging out with buddies. So frick you American Airlines. frick you like Toní gets finger banged in a UK locker room.

Did you accidentally book the flight to Jax TN? That's brutal, man.

No. American fricked the shite out of me. I was too annoyed and dejected to even argue. I’ve been taking it on the chin for a couple of months now so said frick it. I will claw back some money later this week.
