we don't need more PG's.
we need SF's.
I have no problem bringing back Solo.
I'd also like to get MKG or Hollis-Jefferson, and see if Vinson can teach them how to shoot. Jefferson is the better defender, so i'd go with him.
Dorian Finny Smith is a similar player to Jefferson, had similar crappy 3 point stats for his first 3 years, then bumped up to 37% this year, and he has similar free throw shooting numbers.
It's pretty frustrating that we didn't go get one of the cheap SF's out there, like David Nwaba or Wes Iwundu or Dwayne Bacon or Bembry or Gary Clark, or fricking Torrey Craig.

Solo signed elsewhere.

I want Batum and Ilyasova personally...but that's probably a pipe dream
Also, for anyone who knows the cap better than I do....could we structure Ingram's contract where he makes "less" year 1 to avoid the tax to get a full slate of vet end of bench guys and then it goes higher after season 1...thinking like $26m year 1 and then incremental raises after that still at the max?

Teams are running out of money and roster spots. The main contenders don't have many spots back open.
It could be why we haven't signed anyone else. We are looking for some of the "better" guys that could sign for the minimum to give up getting to a contender.
I also feel like Langdon could have a rookie minimum Euro up his sleeve.

Translation: No team out there was willing to take on that awful contract so we have to spin it to make it sound like he was never on the market.

Good let them suck and have Beal want to get out

didn't realize that.
Forgot about Batum. That's who I'd like. Batum and Hollis-Jefferson. Batum to actually play and Hollis-Jefferson as a reclamation project trying to teach him how to shoot, b/c if you can, then he's a great back up SF to have that can defend. That's 14 on the roster, and that's enough for now. Go get a big for your two way player. Hell get Tacko Fall. If injuries hit you enough, you call them up.

I know he isn’t anything we have been discussing, but thoughts on Langston Galloway? I know he has a house here
Posted on 11/23/20 at 2:26 pm to Jon1798
he's not big enough.
We literally do not have anyone on the roster that could guard Harrison Barnes, much less Lebron or Kawhi.

Adding another guard would be the worst thing you can do for a already crowded group. We don’t need 7 guards. 6 is more than enough.

I don't even know if we can be choosy about position at this point, and that is the situation we've put ourselves in by being so behind the curve this FA period.
We've got 3-4 roster spots to fill and they all have to be minimums.
I'm sure they'd like to have another 3/4, 2/3, and maybe even another vet PG.
but the pickens are REAL slim at this point.

Hopefully the Slim Reaper is adding muscle...but Hart can absolutely handle the Barnes' of the world.

Was simply thinking if Naw and Kira play PG, Galloway could be obtainable as a third SG.
Posted on 11/23/20 at 2:33 pm to Jon1798
I think everyone is a bit uneasy about the depth at 3 and 4, but Galloway wouldn't be the worst signing.

He can b/c of his hustle, but he's undersized for that, just like Jrue was. They can do it, but it requires a lot from them to be able to.

Wall’s deal is the single worst in the league until it is either an expiring or he shows signs of life on the court.
Wiggins is arguably in the same class because he clogs up as much money but actively makes things worse while on the court.

Hmm ... maybe we bring Didi onto the squad. What's the deadline on that call, I wonder?
