why does Boston trade their 2 best players and a 1st for Eric Gordon? you seriously need to lower your expectations regarding a Eric Gordon deal I'm not ready to trade him for scraps, but I'm aware the Pels wont be getting an all-star PG, a quickly developing SF and a 1st for him
That was just my ridiculous response to the ridiculous trade including paul pierce. Not all that serious.

Agreed. Gordon has pissed us all off with his attitude but he is still very young and very talented. I know his injury history, obviously, but none of these deals make us better than we are with him. We need more assets in that Bledsoe deal to even consider it.

McNamara Rumours
Just heard the new rumor:
"New Orleans scientists spliced Pistol Pete and Michael Jordan's DNA and injected it into an embryo in the uterus of Lisa Leslie in 1998. The kid is now 15 and is being trained in an underground bunker / training facility financed by Tom Benson. He will be the Pelicans' milk chocolate basketball messiah in 4 years."

Omg! I didn't capitalize the "P" in Pierce either!!!!

So...anything of consequence going on in this thread?

So what about we draft maybe Burke, get Pekovic in FA, and then finally look at guys like Wright and Webster.
Then we have guys like Gordon, Lopez, Vasquez and Anderson as trade assets later into the season when other options might be available. It would give time for Vasquez and Gordon to continue to increase their value. A chance for us to see if Anderson will be a long term complement to Davis. Lopez will then be a player with only team options on his contract.
PG- Vasquez/Burke/Roberts
SG- Gordon/Rivers
SF- Webster/Wright(?) or Miller
PF- Davis/Anderson/Smiht
C- Pekovic/Lopez/Smiht

No, just typical McNamara garbage.

This is my ideal "realistic" offseason.
However, it is increasingly likely that Pekovic is going to be very hard to get. First of all, it looks like he is going to get PAID...way more than expected. Like 12-14 mill per year.
That is a lot to pay for a guy like him, not to mention he is a RFA and we might need to give up something in trade.

Vasquez' value isn't increasing. The clock is ticking on cheap Vasquez and the better he plays the more money he'll get on his next contract. I think either Rivers or Vasquez needs to go by the deadline assuming Rivers hasn't taken the starting PG job by then.

Well Pekovic is only 27 years old. He is worthy of a big contract IMO. The guy is huge, rebounds, scores, and makes FTs. Also Minnesota doesn't have a ton of room for a big money guy.

Well I meant it would give Vasquez a chance to start off the season strong and show it wasn't a fluke season. So maybe not truly increase his worth, but solidify it.

14 per though? Damn...that still seems like a lot for him.

Boston isn't trading Pierce. He will retire a Celtic
Posted on 5/21/13 at 12:05 pm to Cap Crunch
Bradley and a first (assuming that's what they'd get for flipping PP) is good value for EG10.
I'd definitely be on board with a move like this.

Not so fast on that one.
Boston's been having serious discussions about buying out his $15m contract for $4m for a while now.
If they're having those discussions, they're also thinking about flipping him for assets, as someone will want to give up an overpriced player for $11m in salary relief.

1. How many centers can score, rebound, and make FTs? Marc Gasol?
2. Are we just going to waste cap space? The guy is worth big money. He is only 27 years old and plays the thinnest position in the league.

A team where Pekovic as your highest paid player isn't a good thing
And I like Pek a lot
