Why the HELL would we want Burke? He's an undersized point guard who will get his lunch eaten in the NBA. The way he throws his body around as he attacks the lane should worry any GM about his durability. Why would you invest in someone like that?

He's one of Monty's guys from Portland. He can hit three-pointers, can play both the 2 and the 3, can play defense, and can rebound though not as well as Aminu

....am now in the loop!! if this is true, he'll do for a couple years or till we get our future guy.

FTR if the Celtics are indeed shopping Pierce then that means KG is retiring. The Celtics will probably trade Pierce, someone will buy him out and he can sign with LAC for his last two years.

Those are pretty generous measurements. Burke barely touches 6'0" on a good day.

Also with the exception of CP3, most elite point guards are taller than Burke

Westbrook - 6'3"
Rose - 6'3"
Parker 6'2"
Nash - 6'3"
Curry - 6'3"

And not these guys are elite but two other examples:
Lin - 6'3"
Vasquez - 6'6"

Just getting started reading this thread.

Maybe Doc Rivers wants to help setup the Pelicans so his son is on the right track. "Yea, Paul, they are going to release you from Boston. Migth as well head over to NOLA and retire there. Help em out a bit."

really doubt this. just cant see any team taking paul's two years for $32mil. too many teams have used their amnesty and asset options. plus the tax penalties get real next year. he'll be 36 before the season starts. ....decrepid.....

The height is his official measurement from the combine, not some bunk college program numbers.

Regarding trade rumors I think QPon for Vasquez is the only one, but that doesn't mean 1) he doesn't actually know someone in an NBA front office and 2) that he shouldn't pass on rumors he hears. As much as people hate rumors, they help pass the time during the offseason.
He has been posting rumors for years (as CP3&11 others previously) and almost never hits. If you notice, many of his previous "rumors" involved Cleveland and we all know his friend in the NBA was with the Cavs (he may have moved on to another team now, maybe the Hawks). A blind squirrel finds a nut sometimes. I could post a million rumors and claim then all to be "internal discussions" when they do not materialize. I am just curious why anyone gives him any level of credibility. I would take truckman or Incarcerated Bob's info as more genuine.

Check the OFFICIAL measurements from the combines. I would take their measurements over your eyeball test.

From the combine, Trey Burke is 5'11.75" without shoes and 6'1.25" with shoes.

Who says we gave anyone credibility. We discussed the merit of the trade, not praised the source. Whether it is a true rumor or not is irrelevant. It's possible because both players are available and if it's possible is it something we want to do is the discussion, not the source.

The people that don't think he deserves any credibility are the ones that even bother bringing him up thus giving him the attention and credibility they ironically don't think he deserves.

They're all unreliable. Short of star Melodramas that are drawn out with limited number of potential dance partners, most trades don't get much run in the rumor mill before they go down. All the rumors really tell us is who's buying and selling and who's probably on the block.

If Burkes measurements are generous, then i would assume those other guys numbers are as well.

I am a basher of "height with shoes" because players can use inserts while measuring that they would never play in. I assure you Andre Drummond doesn't play in 2 inch heels. Height without shoes stops those shenanigans.

That said, Burke is fairly typical in size for a PG.
