What are they trading for Dwight? Because they wouldn't have the cap space to sign him. Surely more than Bogut. Would they really want to trade say Barnes and Bogut for Dwight and Klay for Lopez? That leaves them pretty thin this season. If they could do it without losing Barnes I think I could see it, but that's still pretty iffy. In 2014 they'd have about $49 million for just Curry, Barnes, Lee and Howard.
To be fair though, if they did go this direction they'd almost have to choose between Klay and Barnes long term. So again, if they can keep Barnes while getting Howard this idea might not be crazy from Golden State's perspective.

Horford has been a center his whole career. Dude is 6'10" 250. He can guard and post up any center in the league. Not to mention his great midrange game. Power forward? Cmon

Now that we established he's legit center, let's note that Horford was top 5 amongst starting centers in nearly every cat this season.

He's still only 26, too. Dude is a beast.

I'm not denying that he's played Center at all.
And he's been good at it. But is he a TRUE Center? No.
Why do you think they've been constantly trying to find a true C so they can play them at PF and have a dominate post presence something like what Memphis has.
AD is only 20. By the time he is 26, I'd hope he be up to about 240-250. Then we'd have two "undersized" Centers on our squad?
Don't get me wrong, I'd love to trade for Horford. Waaaaayyyyyy more than Pek; but 2 1st rounders AND Lopez? The first legitimate C we've had since this team has moved to NOLA? Ummmm... I think I'll pass on this one.
