The moaning in Guns N' Roses "Rocket Queen" was from Steven Adler's girlfriend while she was getting fcked by Axl Rose.

The guy who had to place the mics and record the audio from that uh, session, is credited in the Appetite liner notes as "the fricking engineer"

Most? I've never heard of that ever.
I always knew it like he said. Trip-uh-let Trip-uh-let etc. Never heard of your method. Seems more unnecessarily complicated. Four-trip-let doesn't exactly roll off the tongue or sound good in your head.

I didn't know that "Fame" was written by Bowie and John Lennon for a long time. May be common knowledge to older folks, I don't know.

I actually met Wierd Al on Bourbon Street about 30 years ago and he was nice as hell.

Albert Hague, the man who played Mr. Shorofsky On the 80s tv show Fame, wrote the music for You’re A Mean One Mr. Grinch

And the song is sung by Tony the Tiger (Thurl Ravenscroft).

I never offered any method.

Most people know this (I guess)...that Barry Gibb wrote Islands in the Stream. I only learned it a year or so ago. Now, anytime I hear it I can't unhear the Bee Gees in it (rhythm and harmonies, especially).

[quote]It's a mystery as old as the track that brought it to life. On the intro to Def Leppard's hit song "Rock of Ages," a slightly accented voice is heard saying "Gunter gleiben glauchen globen." What do the words mean? Why did the band include them in the song? Now, drummer Rick Allen has taken to Twitter to set the record straight. "It was actually (producer) Mutt Lange who came up with that," Allen said via a video posted to the band's official account. "He was getting so tired of saying '1,2,3,4' whenever we counted in. He wanted to inject a bit of humor in there." As for the specific language, Allen says that it was also Lange's creation. "I guess 'Gunter gleiben glauchen globen' is some Germanic-sounding language. I wouldn't put it past Mutt because he actually speaks Dutch." Read More: Rick Allen Reveals the Origin of 'Gunter Gleiben Glauchen Globen' | LINK ]

I think it is pretty common knowledge that the original Eagles lineup of Don Henley/Glenn Frey/Bernie Leadon/Randy Meisner was brought together to be the backing band for Linda Ronstadt.

What's probably less well known is that they played with her on one album (1972's Linda Ronstadt) and one live show (July 1971 at Disneyland).

Waylon Jennings and Buddy Holly were great friends and Waylon played bass in Holly's band. Jennings was supposed to be on the plane but gave his seat to The Big Bopper. The plane crashed and Holly, Richie Valens and The Big Bopper died. The tragedy is memorialized in the song "American Pie" as 'the day the music died'.

Yes, old news. The best version IMO is from 1997 "One Night Only" from Vegas, performed by the Bee Gees. Best version of all.

Those seem like some of the most known music facts of all time.

Duane Allman composed the signature riff in the song Layla.

Eric Clapton played the solo on the Beatles "While My Guitar Gently Weeps".
SRV got his first big break playing the solo for David Bowie's hit "Let's Dance". Also, SRV couldn't read music either.
Marty Stuart has only worked for 2 people in his entire career, Lester Flatt and Johnny Cash.

Louie Louie

In 1963, a rock group named the Kingsmen recorded the song “Louie, Louie.” The popularity of the song and difficulty in discerning the lyrics led some people to suspect the song was obscene. The FBI was asked to investigate whether or not those involved with the song violated laws against the interstate transportation of obscene material. The limited investigation lasted from February to May 1964 and discovered no evidence of obscenity. Link to the documents

Marty's played for quite a few people. Doc Watson, George Jones, Bob Dylan and Pops Staples are a few others.

Every gift in the 12 Days of Christmas is a bird. The golden rings are pheasants, the 11 pipers piping are sandpipers, etc
