What’s a band you want to like, but you just don’t?

For me it’s Mammoth.

I’m such a huge Van Halen fan, and Wolfgang seems like a great young man. He’s obviously very talented, can sing and play every instrument.

The times I have seen him play Van Halen songs, he has played the closest version to the original I’ve ever heard.

But his band Mammoth, I just don’t like the music. I’ve tried. A lot.

Of course there is.

Perhaps they come from a band you do like, or they seem like good people and you want to give them a chance.

Perhaps they are loved by people whose opinions you respect.

Perhaps they are from your favorite genre.

Perhaps your friends or significant other like them, so you have many opportunities to see/hear them.

Could be lots of reasons you want to like them. But in the end, you have to actually like them.

Led Zeppelin

I like Jimmy's playing, but the fact that they were such big rip offs tarnished it all for me.

phish
govt mule
goose
widespread panic

all of them tour regularly, play cool venues, have devoted crowds and would be my scene. I just can’t do the music, and I’ve tried

I’m with you. I can’t do jam bands.

Govt Mule is different enough with Allman brothers roots that I like them.

I’m a huge WSP fan, but I can’t get into Billy Strings, Phish, or Goose.

Have you actually listened to the supposed "original" songs and compared them to LZ, or just rehashing the same old thought that you read?

To say rip offs is a HUGE stretch.

Already some good ones on here

Rush
Any Jam band- I just can't do a 3-hour nonstop concert that sounds the same
Pearl Jam
U2
Chili Peppers- I think radio just beat me down too much
Soundgarden- I know its controversial because people worship Cornell, but I cringe when I hear Spoonman and Black Hole Sun

The Rolling Stones - mediocre British blues band

I think Paul McCartney said it best “I’m not sure I should say it, but they’re a blues cover band, that’s sort of what the Stones are,”

A current one is Sleep Token. Others are Incubus, Rage Against the Machine, and Korn. Although I like a few of Korn's songs (early ones).

Bands I never understood the love are Red Hot Chili Peppers, Pearl Jam, and The Rolling Stones. Just to name a few.

One other thing...I use to not like Rush until I saw them live.
