which is why i said "sortof." it would have been great to hear nate on the last two sdre albums, but obviously working with the foo fighters was a better career decision, with enigk and hoerner being touchy head cases seemingly hell bent on sabotaging themselves.

I started listening to Foo Fighters as a kid on about 5th grade so I guess I try to remain loyal to them. I do think they have a good bit of filler though.

I was born in 80 and have been a fan of them since they showed up on the scene. Not a die hard fan, just a dude that likes their music. Some of their songs I Iike are more complex songs with more parts and song changes, other songs of theirs I like are simple and/or raw. I dont consider a song's complexity or simplicity as the only deciding factor if it's a song I like or not, but some songs just fit a certain level of that better than others. They have a veriety of song types and I like that, as well as a variety of "moods" a song has, or portrays for maybe a better term. Some of their songs remind me of good times and people from back in the day that I enjoyed listening to early Foo Fighters with. It was finally my first time to see them live last night and I thought they had great energy and connection to the crowd, especially Dave Grohl.

Foo Fighters are the bland, banal, boring blah of the medicated, moronic masses. Go to the movie board and look for reviews on some of the laughtrack'd shows and terrible movies of the recent years and you'll see people defending the "art" with comments like, "sometimes I just want to turn my brain off", "I don't want to have to work during a movie", "it's a popcorn flick", "it doesn't have to be anything other than entertaining", etc.

Foo Fighters are their soundtrack.

It's meaningless music for people who are searching for two qualities; catchy and loud.

Their HBO work is only proving how calculated and soulless it is.

If a band makes it "mainstream" they suck bc it hit the masses. Find me a band who has had as much success as the foo fighters for this long and are bigger than ever now. Also they keep getting better IMO. But just bc they are "too big" they aren't talented lol. The show last night had everyone rocking their arse off including me, if you weren't there you have no clue. Or are just a boring person

Have I just missed the innovation creativity and smart lyrics?

Dave seems like a good guy but I just don't particularly connect to his sense of humor and am probably cut from a more bluesy/funky rock roots as my bread and butter, or much more aggressive if trying to be straight ahead loud rock. There's nothing wrong with what he does it just doesn't connect or inspire or....

I could not tell from your original post. It doesn't accurately describe the band at all. Read as if you just went to a concert. Just a terrible post overall. In fact, the more I think about it, the more I'm convinced you haven't heard any of the songs.

Cop-out. Not my argument. Popularity is irrelevant to the level of bland here.

Would never say they aren't talented. Tons of talent there. The output is the problem; not the ability or lack of.

Seen them before---big glass of meh.

You're projecting. Prayers sent.

They're the Coke Zero and driving 65 in the passing lane equivalent of music.
