Honest question- in their new music, is it possible to hear the influence of the genres they rediscovered?

I heard one of their new songs and it seemed like the only thing they incorporated was more of the Foo Fighters.

Hmmm, the past couple of weeks I've been listening to some Fugazi, Bad Religion, Warpaint, Mars Volta, and Metallica's St. Anger album. John Frusciante's solo discography is my bread and butter.

I've sort of been in a dry spell in terms of listening to satisfying music. I think that's why I was taking it out on the Foo Fighters. I just yearn for music that's more cathartic than the stuff they put out and this need has been unfulfilled as of late.

As others have said- to each his own. (FYI- I was in a bad mood yesterday so my cynicism was running rampant.)

I guess cuz even though I'm not a fan of the Foo, I do like Them Crooked Vultures, and Grohl seems like a genuine enough guy to get a little respect from me.
