Van Halen is the best American band ever.

Grunge ruined rock and roll for almost 20 years

Foo farters music all sounds the same- yelling over bar chords.

Led Zep had the best run of albums in history.

Oasis released pure sh!t music.

Pantera was the best metal band ever. Whenever I hear of the " big 4" , I chuckle at these goofball bands........especially Anthrax and Slayer.

Country music is for retards unless it's David Allen Coe, Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson or Hank 3.

Stevie Nicks sings like a baby goat.

Slash is a sloppy lazy guitar player who can't bend a note to correct pitch.

Jackyl singer Jessi James should have replaced Brian Johnson in AC/DC. Axl Rose sounded like crap trying to sing ACDC.

Jason Isbell's songwriting on the last 2 albums is overrated at best.

I love Dave Grohl but this is 1000% correct

We saw them live not long ago and 45 minutes into it my wife and I wanted to leave because of a headache. It was just loud guitar playing over and over with screaming.

And Cobain was a hack that could barely play guitar. I really like fender mustangs but he ruined them for me.

Smells like teen spirit is a shitty song.

And he didn't commit suicide.

Neil Schon is terribly underrated as a guitar player.
Prince was a much better guitarist than many give him credit for.
Rap is NOT music. It is talking over tracks ripped off from real musicians.
Toto is one of the greatest American bands of all time
Deacon Blues is the greatest song ever written.
Aretha Franklin is the greatest female vocalist of all time
Brian Wilson is a musical genius
Gregg Allman is the greatest male vocalist of all time.

I could do this all day.

1) Despite the fact that they are considered to be one of the "greatest" rock bands of the past 25 years, the Foo Fighters are one of the most generic-sounding, neutered groups I have ever heard. I'll never understand why Dave Grohl disbanded the raw, visceral, and artistically-centered music of his Nirvana days in favor of the Foo Fighters sound. At their peak, Queens of the Stone Age were light years ahead of the Foo Fighters.

2) Bruce Springsteen is a much better performer than writer. His songwriting abilities are greatly exaggerated.

3) Beyonce was better with Destiny's Child than as a solo artist.

4) Pearl Jam have been cruising on the success of their debut for three decades now.

5) Patti Labelle's voice was more powerful than Aretha Franklin's.

6) Despite Southpark's critique, Phil Collins is one of the greatest pop artists of all-time.

7) I'll agree with a prior poster...Nickelback's sound isn't NEARLY as terrible as it's made out to be. Granted, their music is utterly devoid of any semblance of artistic merit. But, as a commercial rock band looking to sell records, there are few who have done better in the post-grunge era. I once claimed that All the Right Reasons would be regarded as the Pyromania of my generation.

8) As a vocalist, Christina Aguilera is a drastically greater talent than Britney Spears.

9) Regardless of their albums sales and popularity among white audiences, Drake and Lil Wayne wouldn't even sniff a list of the top-100 MCs of all-time.

10) I don't give two fricks about Jason Isbell's recent political and social standings. I think he is arguably the most talented lyricist and songwriter of this century.

I remember listening to a music podcast a while back and the guy was stating how romanticized Nirvana was and how they were just the band that came around at the perfect time and the lead singer died at the perfect time.

This is my opinion on Cobain. I think he had limitations that would have been exposed as grunge died out and he had to adjust as an artist.

Grohl did that, in addition to the drummer to frontman transition. I don't think Cobain would have, but the iconic image left by him passing early masks that.

I have a similar unpopular opinion on Notorious BIG like that. He was a great lyricist, but never able to broaden what he covered topically. He would never have made Keep Ya Head Up like Pac. His death limited his catalogue to mask the lack of versatility.

Yeah we always want to make them much better and bigger than they were.

Even though most likely half of them would have been playing casinos or broken up a decade later.

He's right. I love Jimmy Page but his tone is very trebly almost to the point of being screechy. I've seen it described as "bass shy". That's a very diplomatic way of putting it.

This is an unpopular opinion because it is wrong. "GaryGator has shitty understanding of music", is probably a much more popular opinion.
