Today is the day...reissue of one of my favorite albums. 20th anniversary of the original release of Trace. I'm so pissed that I missed them at 3rd and Lindsley last month.

Overall I prefer Wilco and their catalog, but I will admit that Trace is my favorite post-Uncle Tupelo album between the two. Damn great.

Up on Spotify. The only Son Volt album I really loved after Trace was Wide Swing Tremolo. Much more of a Wilco fan but you knew Trace would be a classic from the first listen. Too bad Farrar not coming to New Orleans.

All time great album. Better than anything Wilco or Jeff Tweedy's bitchass has ever produced without the help of a Farrar.

Straightaways is on par with Trace IMO. Saw Son Volt live right after Straightaways came out. Had a herniated disc in my back at the time and stood for 3 hours in a super packed bar......just thought yall'd like to know.

Straightaways is excellent but just a tad short of Trace IMO. It gets spottier after that but there aren't any Son Volt albums that I don't like.

Does this old heart good to see the praise for Farrar. A hidden gem of a musician.

Great album. I was lucky enough to catch Son Volt on one of their very first tours in support of the album at the old Howlin' Wolf.
