Adam Yauch from the Beastie Boys.
That should have given me time to actually get to see them....

Duane Allman by far. The Allman Brothers Band was formed for two years cutting three albums and were just taking off when he died at 24.

Since everyone else has been covered, I’ll go Bradley Nowell of Sublime fame. They and he had a pretty unique thing going. I for one thought and think they’re pretty awesome.

I'd be curious to see if Jerry Garcia would've cleaned up what would he have done?

Bob Dylan had some pretty good music late in life. Weird AF, but I love some of his early 2000s stuff. I wonder what Jerry would do w/ JGB (and the Dead).

But he'd probably just OD a few years later. He looked 80 yrs old.

I know I'm about to say something blasphemous, but I wonder if Duane didn't die that day, would Dickey's maturation to the leader of the band even happen? Probably not. But would he be a better guitar player w/ Duane still playing?

The ABB was my first love, especially the 1990s run.

Croce and SRV

Would love to see SRV every year or two at Claptons Crossroads festival.

My initial reaction is to say Jim Morrison because I really love the Doors, and LA Woman might be their best album. Surely there was more in the tank. But OP does make a good point about where his priorities probably would have inevitably laid.

So I'll go with Duane Allman or Jimi Hendrix. Either are intriguing in terms of what material they could have produced thay let we never got to hear.

Kurt Cobain - his death elevated his shitty music and had he lived longer, everyone could have seen the hack he was and maybe rock music wouldn't have died for nearly 20 years
