Metallica bassist Cliff Burton, to see how the band would’ve progressed beyond Master of Puppets and to learn if anything resembling the Load era still unfolded.

Bonham was on a one way path to the grave long before what happened in 1980. Plant and Jones had cleaned up a few years before and even Jimmy Page had calmed down. The night he died, he had gone to one of the other band members house but had been totally incapacitated by the copious amounts of alcohol he had drank that day....which was not all that unusual for Bonham.

I think Cobain is an interesting choice but in reverse. I really think he had probably tapped out his reservoir by the time of his death.

Bonham and Keith Moon would have just going until they died again. But both great drummers.

Along with Ginger Baker they're my top 3 rock drummers.

Agree. Cobain was spent.

I haven't seen anyone mention Terry Kath. I would really have liked to see him break free from Chicago in the early 80's and do his own thing.

He apparently some solo album going that was said to be his "white album", but was obviously never released.

I'd kinda like to hear that and see what it was all about

Amy Winehouse also died at age 27. Kurt Cobain? Also died at 27. That's a tough year!

Saturn comes back around.
Wish someone had gotten Layne Staley clean. His voice would have only gotten better with age.

My uncle gave me some of her CD's but I never listened to them until recently (she died before I was born).

Once I started listening to some of her music, I became a fan. She had a lot of talent.

KC is probably my favorite female voice.
Tragic circumstances regarding her early death. Many, many people suffer from this.
