i am in ABSOLUTE SHOCK no one has mentioned the best musician to EVER pick up an instrument, and that would be PRINCE!!!
i have been a huge fan of his since the early 80's, and i saw him in concert on october 11, 1988 in hampton va ,and was blown away. that was the night of the earthquake game in tiger stadium, and i didnt finish watching that amazing game until 6am sunday morning.
after your initial reaction, of i am out of my mind, go to youtube and watch his guitar (and every other instrument) work. you can rest assured that if all musicians were polled on who is the best ever, he would be top 5.

Do you think you could muster up your top 10 favorite bands of all time? Honestly, I don't think I can. First, my music tastes are extremely diverse...everything from classic rock, southern rock, jazz, americana, punk, blues, to bluegrass and folk...I think it would be impossible for me to make a top 10. Also, my music taste varies so much depending on mood, location, and even season. I have a rough top 10, but it changes so much. A few bands will always be in there, but the rest are interchangeable. Do any of you have a dead set top 10?
