red rover, red rover, send Steppenwolf right over

good link here - LINK

Steppenwolf - 1 nomination and no Hall in now 30 years - absolute stupidity and bias

Tool not in, I guess because they had to wait in line behind Dolly Parton

Three Dog Night - not fricking in yet, but Eminem's little fagot arse is?

Ozzy not in - really?

The Monkeys are not in and have never been nominated - dufrick - but I'll bet that fricking bitch Madonna is in, and I'm not even going to check, I'll bet her bitch arse is "in"

Jethro Tull not in and I'm not a fan of them, but look at the idiots who are in the past decade or so

Iron Maiden? frick them, they sucked

Gram Parsons not in

Blue Oyster Cult - ZERO NOMINATIONS EVER

Bad Company, Alice in Chains, Barry White.... ZERO NOMINATIONS EVER

I'm honored to be downvoted by an Iron Maiden fan

Black Sabbath is top ten ever

Iron Maiden fans pretend like they're something akin to Sabbath

It's just not a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They should rename it the Modern Music Hall of Fame and start a real Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Journey?

I’m down on your snubs with the exception of the Monkeys. Not sure they wrote or played the instruments on the recordings.

From that list, Bad Company, Foghat, Grand Funk, and Tull should be in.

Paul Rodgers is arguably the best rock vocalist of all time.

I wonder if it hurts them that they were basically a cover band?

Thin Lizzy
King Crimson
The Guess Who
Bad Company
Alice In Chains

And some of the names in that influences column are mind blowing

This is a poor argument imo. There are already several groups in the Rock Hall that rarely wrote or played instruments (if at all). Many from Motown, The Supremes, Four Tops, Temptations etc. Often the instruments were played by The Funk Brothers (Motown’s version of The Wrecking Crew). And even though these were vocal groups, the backing vocal were often provided by The Andantes, studio vocalists. This is little different from The Monkees. As time went on The Monkees played and wrote more and more. I haven’t looked into it but I wouldn’t be surprised if they ended up writing and playing more than any of the above groups in the Hall. I like The Monkees, am a fan, but even I’m not sure they belong in the Hall (Nesmith maybe for his entire career and his contribution to music video). But I don’t think they should be kept out because they didn’t write or play much when there are groups who didn’t either and no one disputes their place in the Hall.
