My “top” worst movie has always been The Happening. Plotline: plants angry at people for not taking care of them so start emitting odorless and colorless gas that makes people want to kill themselves. There are scenes of people running from literally nothing and it is supposed to be suspenseful.

I'll go with On Deadly Ground. Giving Steven Seagal a ton of money and letting him direct his own ego festival was a horrible idea. I felt bad for Michael Caine for the whole movie. It was bad enough that there was no way to avert my eyes.

If we are including budget and star power into the equation, Suicide Squad is still probably the worst for me

The Last Jedi falls into this category as well

Although the only movie I’ve ever walked out of was Australia, the 2008 shitfest with Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman

My husband had loudly proclaimed Nashville to be the worst and then we went to Waterworld, had even looked forward to it. It was painful and he and one of our friends had really wanted to see it.

Same friend joined us to see Cabin Boy which I found even more painful...since the smugness was a sign of things to come from certain creative types there.

Not even the worst Steven Seagal movie.(as you will see below)

I have a tie for my all time worst movie between The Glimmer Man and Sex, Lies, and Videotape. For bad acting and stupidity The Glimmer Man wins. For pure boredom Sex, Lies, and Videotape wins.

Toss-up between a ghost story and the witch. Had high expectations from their ratings. Both were boring as F**k and were not scary at all. Was so glad i didnt pay to see either in Movie theater

Sex Lies & Videotape was truly awful.

Really one of the most vapid storylines ever put to film.

Weird guy beats off to tapes of women talking about sex. Married woman is upset at husband’s affair with her sister, makes a tape for weird guy, husband is upset by it.

That’s really all of it.

It is demonstrably insulting that such wafer thin, meaningless, flat out stupid crap ever got made into a movie.

Galaxy Lords has to be up there. It makes Troll II look like Citizen Kane.

About 20 something years ago wife and I went to Autumn In New York.

It was terrible.

When The female character dies of cancer it is supposed to be heartbreaking. Instead the theater broke into applause.

That moment made the movie worth it.

Well, I’ve seen scores of clunkers and my list is too long for this post.

But I would like to submit a few Oscar winners that I thought absolutely sucked:

Annie Hall
Birdman
The Artist
Moonlight and/or La La Land
Spotlight

All of Woody Allen’s movies when he started to take himself seriously; anything with that silly little Italian guy, Roberto whoever.

And that latest version of Capone was pretty bad.

Having grown up on SW though, I am comfortable in my assessment of TLJ. And no, I didn't even see TROS.

There's a big, BIG difference between an intentionally campy/silly movie, and one that was a serious commitment and intended to be a mainstay.

Yeah, Shark Boy and Lava Girl was bad. It was never intended to be good.
The Last Jedi was intended to be good, and was horrifically bad for what they intended.

Oh, ok. I totally forgot about that one. The Albert Brooks movie is from the 90s, but had the same title.

Plus there is not a single character in the movie who is either remotely likable or remotely interesting.

I have four:
A Boy and his dog...old movie after an apocalypse a boy can talk telepathically with his dog.
Monkey Shines—guy in a wheelchair gets a trained monkey to assist him...monkey turns evil...he kills the monkey by biting its head off (sorry spoiler)
The Ugly Truth...Kathryn Heigl disaster...wife picked it, we walked out about 30 minutes in,
The Happening...so stupid...will never watch anything to do with M Night Shamalamadingdong again
