If you're going to start a troll thread, at least go with a non legendary, Oscar-winning role.

I still can't understand the casting in Alexander, in particular Angelina Jolie. And I'm probably one of the few people who believes Oliver Stone's subsequent cuts fleshed out a good film.

There’s tons of examples of bad casting

Agreed. But Pesci in Goodfellas is NOT one of them. Didn’t he win an Oscar for that role?

Godfather 3 never happened. I've erased that from my memory. But if we pretend it did happen, Sophia Coppola is the answer.

I had a different one, but I've changed my mind. It's this.

He wasn't bad. He was just a dick behind the scenes. Apparently he was paid more than Downey in the first movie.

The Oscars are merely a platform for the self aggrandizing and virtue signaling of hollywood elite.

Anything Don Cheadle is cast in, unless he's cast as a profoundly untalented actor who is never plausibly bright enough to portray an intelligent person.

Cheadle as an astronaut is like Biz Markie cast as Einstein.

Pesci in JFK was the bad casting that you're looking for. One of the worst Southern accents ever put in a film...and that's saying something.

Terrence Howard was much better than Don Cheadle's bland, boring arse.

Tom Cruise as Jack Reacher. Easily the worst cast in my opinion if you read any of the Reacher books.

I thought he was fine, but that monster they cast as Reacher in the series was really good.

I think you missed the point, in a figurative sense. Ken Watannabe was arguably The Last Samurai. Cruise was the vehicle to introduce the last of the Samurai warriors clan. Samurai here is plural.

Never thought of him as the last samurai either. I though his character was the link that provided insight to the story of the last samurai.

I can't imagine going through the effort of creating a troll account just to post this.
