Just wanted to say, after sitting through the Hollywood abomination called The Dark Tower for the first time...I've decided that Jake's Mom

is welcome to appear in any other versions she wants.

Gonna take this in a different direction and think of a series for the kids.

The Boxcar Children was a series I think most of us grew up reading. Done right it could be interesting for both children and adults. But it may be better suited for a streaming platform.

I'd like to see Dragonlance get the production it deserves...

With the success of GoT, I thought for sure that someone would try to do the same with Dragonlance. Seems so obvious. Maybe there are too many similarities, but it's such good source material I have to believe it could be a hit.

Just the Raistlin story arc alone could be a series.

Great suggestions about Dune, Thomas Covenant and Swordvof Truth
To go in a different direction I would love to see a Bosch type series with Demille’s John Corey books. Such a great character.

Would love to see a series based on Brian Lumley's Necroscope series.

It's a Cold War - Horror/Espionage Thriller with vampires and psychically gifted spies.

Think Tom Clancy meets Stephen King.

Also a Mass Effect series done right. It's a fantastic story

And just for fun have an entire episode take place in an elevator in the Citadel.

Something set in Faerun (which is, for all intents and purposes, the setting for the 5th Edition of Dungeons and Dragons) would get more attention.

Wizards of the Coast/Hasbro basically abandoned Krynn after 3rd Edition.

They basically have campaign settings that write themselves into stories:

Curse of Strahd (Ravenloft)
Tomb of Annihilation (Chult)
Lair of the Mad Mage (Waterdeep/Undermountain)
Prophecy of Madness (Abyss/Underdark)
Tyranny of Dragons (Tiamat)
Storm King's Thunder (Icewind Dale)

I’d also recommend Clavell’s Asian Saga. I’m listening to the audiobooks in order now and they are amazingly good. I think AMC is filming a redo of Shogun now as a 10 episode mini series.

Another series that HBO has long been rumored to be working on is the crime noir Bernie Gunther series set in pre and post war Berlin.

And Finally my biggest request would be the Harry Flashman Papers.

Preacher. The AMC show is decent, but they've avoided major plot points.

Yes. I hope Showtime does it right. I wish it was being done by HBO/Netflix/Amazon though.

I loved the BSG re-do, so I am going off on a wild tangent and say Buck Rodgers as well.

I'd love to see one of the premium providers launch a period drama about Storyville in New Orleans at the turn of the 20th century.

Julian May's Saga of Pliocene Exile. If you haven't read it, it is freaking awesome Sci-Fi / Fantasy. The first book is called The Many Colored Land and that series would be amazing.

That or his Gap Series - both are very adult-oriented and have very dark anti-heroes. Not sure if they will ever be a fit for any audience - the "me too" movement would never allow it if told like they were written.

The Gap series does have my favorite character name ever: Angus Thermopyle.

You get your show in Faerun. But 90% of it is just Drizzt showing up to bitch that he's a black elf and doesn't want to have interracial elf babies with the human chick he loves but respects.

Wulfgar gets shat on more than Cyclops in the original X-Men movie.

Also floppy hbo Ogre dicks everywhere.

Malazan Book of the Fallen for me and it isn’t even close.

Seeing lots of Dune. You guys know they’re making another movie with an actual budget and stacked cast right?

Jason Mamoa as Duncan Idaho
Josh Brolin as Gurney Halleck
Tons more names you’d recognize
LINK

If it’s not up yet, what if I told you Arrival/Sicario/Blade Runner 2049 director Denis Villeneuve.

Still no? What if I told you Eric Roth was adapting the novel.

Still no? What if I told you Hans Zimmer was doing the freaking score.

Dune is gonna get done right.

I really want to see books 4-6 done though. I know it’s an unpopular opinion but I enjoy 4-6 more than 1-3. I want to see the Scattering return from Leto’s golden path. That will never happen as the story is way too complex, but it’s my favorite sci-fi series of all time.

Loved the movie and think HBO could really do something with the Master and Commander series.
