The Southern Victory Series
It’s a work of alternate history by Harry Turtledove and it’s super interesting. It’s about the South winning the civil war and it runs all the way through WW2. There’s 11 big books, so a ton of source material to work with. If they do it as good as GoT it could be really good series imo.

I wouldn't mind seeing some kind of Raymond Chandler or other classic Noir stuff get the serial treatment with a serious team.

I'm stoked for Amazon's LotR series.
I wish they had the courage to do the Silmarillion. The book itself isn't that long, but's just a dry history text for the most part. There's seasons and seasons worth of material in an ideal form, actually; it's basically outline, so the screenwriter and director can fill it in any way they interpret it, and you never have to change or leave things out.
And with everyone immortal until near the end, the passage of time isn't really relevant. Elves don't age, so you can stretch a season over centuries, and it doesn't matter.
You could spend many seasons in the First Age.

Jose Farmers RIVERWORLD series. That could be really, really cool if there was a budget for the enormity of it like GOT.

Amazon is already doing Wheel of Time.

HBO could give First Law a pretty good rogering.

Scott Pilgrim vs
Neil Gaiman's Sandman
The Amazing Adventures of Kavalier and Clay
Tekken

If we're talking one season limited series

The Human Stain - They made a shitty movie with Anthony Hopkins. Give me 8 episodes with someone ballsy enough to do an unflinching adaptation.

Anything by Christopher Moore, but especially Sacre Bleu or Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal.

On a board that complains about reboots, sequels, and lack of original content coming out of Hollywood, we have suggestions such as Harry Potter, The Dark Tower, Mortal Combat, and Highlander.

Not saying they would be bad choices, just a little ironic. I do like The Devil in the White City idea that somebody mentioned

Wool would be epic

Red rising, would require a large budget though.

You can't lump that in there with the others. At the time of the 1995 film, you had 2 games and very little story. The amount of source material between 1995 and now that has come out is staggering.

Very few characters in the series are truly good (Cage family) or truly evil (Shao Kahn, Kano, Shinnok) the majority are morally ambiguous or feral in nature. Even Raiden does some truly horrible shite.

I never finished them, but I read the first 5-6. This will be an incredible challenge to get right. I predict it will suck arse, but then again they did say LOTR was unfilmable and PeterJackson proceeded to knock it out of the park.

Amazon better bring the big guns for Wheel of Time cause that shite gets wild.

Piers Anthony’s Bio of a Space Tyrant on HBO would be epic.

Steven R Donaldson’s Chronicles of Thomas Covenant could only be do be on an HBO style format

Maybe the Belgariad series by David Eddings

I was coming to post this. If done right will be as good as GOT and in someways better. Martin actually let Jordan proof read GOT before it came out for his opinion.
