They are guilty. The evidence overwhelmingly favors them having attacked the jogger, and they even confessed to it (multiple times, sometimes on camera and sometimes with their parents present). One guy even admitted to a fried that he held down her arms while another one raped her, and that friend only gave that information to the police because she thought it would help him. These guys had already assaulted people in Central Park in the past, were specifically in the park to assault and rob people that night, and did so to the jogger. It's hard for me to even say they were wrongly convicted of rape, because it is highly unlikely that she would have been raped if they had not beaten her and left her in that position.

Maybe they should not have been convicted of rape by law, I don't know that, but they definitely weren't innocent and never should have been given $40M.

You should probably just be quiet. Your ignorance and Alabama is showing.

Oh no, the only people who are ignorant are the ones who think the Central Park Five are innocent. There is no evidence to support that claim. It's quite telling that no article that talks about the Central Park Five being "exonerated" ever talks about the evidence used to convict them. It was overwhelming, and not based solely on confessions.

That's not how any of this works. Is this rant have anything to do with the fact our current sitting president still thinks they are guilty.

Not sure what argument you're trying to make here, but they are guilty and I'm glad they served out their sentences. I don't really care who does or doesn't believe it. De Blasio never should have given them a $41M settlement in 2014, and I imagine New York voters are none too happy about it. I'm hoping enough time has passed now that people can honestly look at the evidence and come to the obvious conclusion that they deserved their punishment.

feel free to provide this evidence you speak of that didn't stand up in court. Since you are making this claim you should be able to no problem.

What evidence that didn't stand up in court? Their convictions were never overturned in court. A nutjob district attorney from New York sought to set their convictions aside and New York later gave them a settlement of $41M. There was never a court-finding of wrongdoing by the police department or the prosecutor.

ETA: Let me be very clear: All of the evidence stood up in court, and it is and was very compelling and overwhelming. These guys are guilty.

well there was the fact that dna exonerated them. I know people like you think dna and science are liberal propaganda but fortunately society is leaving your type behind

No it didn't. The police always felt there was another attacker that they were unable to identify. The convictions were set aside, and that would typically require a retrial. However, the convictions were set aside at a point when the statute of limitations had ended for the crime of rape. A retrial was not possible. You're stating things that actually did not happen.

I love it when people who aren't actually interested in the truth accuse others of the same.
