The creepiest movies are those old “kids” movies with old school special effects. Like The Dark Crystal or Return to Oz. Wizard of Oz is creepy too.

Not necessarily the scariest movie ever, but Final Destination gave me irl anxiety. I was like 13 or 14 when it came out and lived about 20 mins from a sawmill so there were always log trucks on the roads and I'd be freaking out out the inside every time my parents got behind one in while I was riding with them.
To this day, I get around them ASAP.

I've said before that Silver Bullet fricked me up bad as a kid.
I've also said that if I had to pick one that "scared" me the most it's probably Jaws. And not that the movie itself scared me, but just the thought of an apex predator in the water that wants to hunt/kill you. That shite is terrifying to me. I used to be in a friend's pool at night and actually be kinda nervous about the dark deep end because of Jaws. So while it may not actually even be very "scary" at all really, it has always stuck with me any time I'm in the water.

As a kid, Salem's Lot freaked me out.
I may have been young but jumping back and screaming like a 6yo girl from Carrie.

As Above, So Below freaked me the hell out
The Last Exorcism - the scene when he walks into her room and she is sitting on top of the dresser staring demonically towards the camera... FK ALL THAT
Paranormal Activity scared the piss out of me for a few weeks
The Conjuring was freaky as hell

Once every few years I watch Jacobs Ladder and it really gives me the creeps unlike any other movie.

The Exorcist...saw it as a kid and still cannot sit through it.

Agreed.
Devil/demon stuff is the scariest to me.
Slasher movies fail under logical scrutiny. I don't care how "mentally deranged" Michael Myers or Jason Voorhees are, they are still just men. Shoot them and they should die.
But the devil possessing a kid or a house....
frick
that!

I wanted my money back after watching that shite arse documentary when it came out. Literally the dumbest movie I've ever seen.
I watched the Exorcist at 4 years old and it scared the shite out of me. I love watching great horror movies but there are so few good ones.

I can’t really say what is the scariest, but I prefer the old good ones. I hate cgi and I hate when they show me too much.
Exorcist is probably my favorite but I also love Halloween.
I’ve been on a shudder tear since the 1st but the only one I’ve really enjoyed on there was hell house llc.

For me it was an old movie called "The Town That Dreaded Sundown". It was a movie loosely based on a serial killer in I believe Texas.
Texarkana, TX to be exact.

From what hasn't been listed yet, I say Fire In the Sky. Those aliens freaked me the hell out. I enjoy slasher films/monster movies. They are good fun and put me in a Halloween mood, especially the classics like Nightmare on Elm Street, Scream, etc. The stuff about the devil/demonic possessions messes me up for days and makes me break out my rosary

Tough to define. I love horror movies, but don't really get scared now.. Personally I find ghosts/demons creepier than murderers/monsters.
I will say Session 9 and The Ring both came out when I was 8 or 9 and those 2 movies had me breaking out the night light in my bedroom for a while

I watched session 9 last night. It was a little too David Caruso-y for me. Also watched the blackcoat’s daughter and liked it.
