Ali as a child on an Airplane.
We asked my 6-year old sister to get his autograph because it seemed easier. He signed the piece of paper and kissed her on the cheek.
On the plane, he was in 1st class but drunk old dudes kept going up to him...and standing over him.
So he got up and stood in the galley of the plane for over an hour and entertained and told stories to middle-aged guys. This was when Ali had only been retired for about 5 years. So around '85.
I doubt you'd ever see the most famous man on the planet on a random commercial flight again...and be so gracious with his time. It was a crowd around him...fasten your seat belts, not that day.
Winner winner, that is incredible. He's my favorite athlete of all time.

Sarah Hyland (Modern Family) once entered my place of work and asked to used our public restroom.
If she is 10% as charming in person as she comes across on camera, she's crushworthy.

Just recently met Matthew Perry. Total narcissist. Not sure he's over the drug & alcohol thing yet.
According to CDAN, he's one bad weekend away from TMZ rolling his obit package that's locked and loaded.

David Carradine- cool. I was an extra on POW the escape
Rodney Dangerfield- meh....not ultra friendly or funny at the time. It was Chicago and it was cold.
Bob Hope- super cool. Did security detail for him and the Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders.
R Lee Ermey- super cool. Met him at a range.

I got a call from my grandfather a few years back. He had been fishing at Lake Eufaula and wanted to tell me about this great young guy he had met. He said there was a small pavilion and this young guy was paying the acoustic guitar. My grandfather was wearing his Vietnam Army hat, and the young guy came over to shake his hand and thank him for his service. They got to talking more and my grandpa was telling him about me and how I also play guitar as well as the saxophone.
The guy started to tell my grandpa how he is an actor and has been in some bigger movies and how he was currently filming with Tom Hanks. Turns out he and I share the same name. Grandpa told me I should look into him. I did some digging and it turns out it was Grayson Russell, non other than Texas Ranger Bobby from Talladega Nights. It's hilarious because that is certainly a movie my grandfather has never seen and for him to be so unaware of how quotable Grayson's lines were.
Turns out the Tom Hanks movie was Greyhound. So I didn't get to meet him but my grandpa could not have spoken higher of him. Said he was very interested in the experiences and wellbeing of US veterans.

Wife has worked in the industry for decades. I know ALOT of celebs. Some nice, some not. Some are so famous that they get stopped all day long by everyone on the street wanting to talk or ask for photos. By saying no, people think they are dicks, but honestly its all day everyday - I'd kinda be a dick too. Example - Sam Jackson is a nice guy, but he doesn't want to be bothered. If you walk up to him with an iphone while he is in a public restroom he will go Pulp Fiction on you. Seen it happen.
Nicest - Met Mr Rogers as a child - he wins. Keanu is also extremely nice, like give you an organ nice.
Worst - Harvey Weinstein - had the not-pleasure to be in his presence a few times. First time i spent like two hours alone with him in a green room and I remember thinking this is one of the worst humans ever in history. Another time he was really mean to my wife in front of me and i wanted to punch him, but it would have ended her career. I know I'm not the only man who feels that way. Honestly, he is lucky to be in jail now.

comes with being famous. dont want to be famous? dont go into a business where the ultimate success is being famous, and then expect people not to bother you.
this is why i hate virtually all celebrities.

You’re a better man than me. I’ve never been married, but in that hypothetical scenario I’d be hard pressed not to do or say something, career be damned. I guess it comes with her job though.

I used to play in a band in the early 2000’s and we were the opening act for a few big name bands when Grant St Dancehall in Lafayette was still a good music venue. We opened up for Blue October, Tantric, and Cowboy Mouth. Got to hangout with them backstage and/or on their tour bus. All really cool people.
The singer for Tantric (Hugo Ferreira), when he talked it was kinda shocking how his voice sounds compared to his singing. He voice was rough!
When we opened for Cowboy Mouth, I met M.C. Gainey backstage. He was really good friends with the band apparently. Really cool and hilarious guy.

One of my Aunts had a bit part in the latest Bill and Ted movie. She got to know him and said he was the nicest celeb she had ever met, and she's been doing extra and bit work in movies and television since the 80's and has met a lot of them. Anyway, she tried to convince him to come to our family's Thanksgiving when they had time off from filming but he very politely declined. It would have been awesome as hell, though.

Nah, but I slipped him a little post-it that said VONTAE MACK NO MATTER WHAT
(I wish I had the balls to actually do that)

Dick Van Dyke.
As nice as you would imagine he would be.
Buddy of mine had an encounter with him years ago on an airport tram. He said there was this old man sitting across from him with his suitcase in front of him. He looked sort of familiar but couldn't place him.
He then noticed that his case had his initials D.V.D. on it.
My buddy looked up at his face, and Dick Van Dyke was already looking right back at him and sort of nodded like, "Yeah, it's me," and winked at him.
