this is why i hate virtually all celebrities.

Or we could, as a society, respect people's privacy

This is a bad take.

Those people have the right to their privacy, and we aren't entitled to shite from them.

Just recently met Matthew Perry. Total narcissist. Not sure he's over the drug & alcohol thing yet.

There's a reason the entire cast of Friends can't stand him.

Met Cuba Gooding Jr at the Wine Loft like 20 years ago. He was walking back to his party and I said hey, he stayed and talked way longer than I expected. Was really cool, and short. But cool.

I stayed in L.A. once at the house of the bass player from 311 and stopped up his toilet. Shitty plumbing in the hills.

I was at the bar in the Austin airport years ago and Dennis Quiad bought everyone a round. There were only 3-4 of us sitting up there. He was just hanging out talking with us. Seemed like a normal guy.

How did you meet all those celebs?

Working in the service industry in BR and Nola during and right after my LSU days, just bumped into a few of them via work. Stallone was wearing boots to make him taller.

I once was a PA on a Lawrence film and had to stand guard by her dressing room. She is really tall and pretty. Nice convo with her.

I wrote for a magazine in Nola later and interviewed Warren Haynes for an album release around Jazz Fest.

Saban was walking to game day set and I was a student. Had to shake his hand after that win. My uncle and I were only two people around, following the game. Which was weird.

Stifler’s mom (Jen Coolidge) I was at a dinner party of 4 and she was one of the 4. I was too.

Exchanged pleasantries with Darrell Hammond before the LSU/Bama rematch in Nola. He’s funny.

By far the coolest cat I ever met was Dr. John… that baw dripped cool.

If you count him as a celebrity then I’ll say Booger McFarland as well. But I knew him before he had left to go to LSU. I was in 7th grade his senior year of high school, and when he would come help my uncle do work chores (chopping firewood, moving cinder blocks, etc) I would help him. Pretty cool riding around working with Booger when I was a kid, knew he was gonna do big things… then he went to LSU and was a freshman All-American, first team All American, 1st round draft choice, two time super bowl winner… MNF analyst… say what you will about his booth skills, the dude has conquered life in my book.

I don't know about anywhere else, but they were minor celebs here in Atlanta thanks to 99X giving them exposure on the airwaves. Jenny Says continues to be one of my favorite one-hit wonders of the 90s.

Everyone's stories about Quaid tend to be a mixed bag, but those bits he did with the earpiece on Ellen where she'd send him out to the Warner Brothers lot and feed him lines to say out loud were pretty funny.

At the WB gift shop: "Dennis Quaid likes this shirt! He wishes to take one home!"

I saw David Keith pull a "Do you know who I am?" when getting carded for beer at a gas station. The girl at the counter said "Nope, that's why I need to see your ID." He pitched a fit and stormed out.

I served David Keith when I was bartending a social event back in the late 80's. He was super generous and down to earth when I met him (but he wasn't a great tipper).

I don't blame them being irritated. That novelty of fame I think would wear thin after about a week. The best would to be wealthy and unknown, like an NFL long snapper. Sign me up.

I saw Eminem go into a bathroom stall once to take a shite, so I stood by it until he came out and I asked for an autograph. He wouldnt give it to me so I called him an a-hole.

That's the way he is.

Maybe he is an a-hole I don't know, but I don't think I'd want to be signing some stuff for a dude that has been waiting for me while I take a shite. That is weird. I mean when is the right time to ask someone for an auto after taking a dump? Before he washes his hands or while he's trying to dry them? Or maybe just stand around in a bathroom chatting with a stranger.

As a once-upon-a-time French Quarter bell-captain, I've had a few interactions:

-Naomi Campbell & Christy Turlington: Friendly; brought up their luggage, then a hairdryer, tipped well, and were the most gorgeous creatures I've ever seen in real life. Just built completely different from normal humans. Even tho they were different races, they looked like sisters with symmetrical faces, long necks/arms/legs, perfect breast-waist-hip ratio, etc...Just other-worldly.

-Eddie Money (RIP): Nicest guy ever. Took him & his whole family of wife/kids up from their touring bus, got free tickets to the show that night, had a drink with him at the bar after the show, then Ron Swoboda had to cut-in & commandeer the conversation.

-Micky Dolenz: Asked for directions to the streetcar, gave it to him, then pointed in the opposite direction and said, "...or you could go his way and take the Last Train To Clarksville." His GF busted out laughing. He deadpanned, "Funny."

-Kevin Dillon: Down-to-earth frat kind-of-dude. Great tipper. Just wanted to party with some stippers. Called the Hustler Club for him and his buddy and got it set up.

-Tower of Power (brass band): Showed them my etch-a-sketch artwork at my bellstand, and I've never had a better reaction. Completely stroked my ego with the high praise. Even pulled people off the street to take a look. That was a good day.

-Jeff Blauser: Dude turned the knob on one of my E-A-S drawings and fvcked it up. He didn't even really apologize. Just backed away with a "that's pretty cool."

-Hota Kotb: Magnetic/Full-of-life; Hug & cheek-kiss twice (Jazz Fest & then at a NYE party at Jax Brewery)

Minimal interactions:
-Paul Shaffer: withdrawn & a poor tipper
-OJ Simpson & Tom Hammond & Todd Christensen sighting at a Gold Club (strip club) night before a game
-Jesse Jackson: friendly
-Anthony Kiedis: quiet, avg tipper
-Lance Henriksen: friendly
-Lou Ferrigno: friendly
-Carl Banks: friendly
-GW Bailey/Mean Capt Harris from Police Academy: super nice guy & great tipper
