Met Kevin Costner at a golf Course in Arcadia when he was here filming the Bonnie and Clyde movie. Super nice guy
Met Tony Bennett briefly at the Shreveport airport when he was leaving after playing one of the casinos. Had a great 10 minute chat

I met Scott Bakula while filming NCIS at my work location. Super nice guy and had a ton of positive energy on set.
Wife and I met Greg Giraldo after a show in Austin. Super cool guy, but you just knew he was on some type of drugs, which wasn’t a huge surprise when he ODed the following year.
Flew next to Hannibal Buress on a flight from Vegas to Nola. I think he was a little annoyed that no one recognized him

I worked in Wisconsin for several months back in 1998 which was the year after the Packers had gone to back-to-back Superbowls. I was a big Packer fan because I liked Brett Favre. Doug Pederson was Favre’s backup at the time. My bro-in-law had worked with Doug’s wife at EA Conway in Monroe. He got in touch with her and gave her my phone number.
Anyway, I came home from work one day and checked my messages at the little apartment I was living in and I had a voice message from Doug inviting me over to a pre-season game against the Raiders at Lambeau Field the next Sunday. I actually went to Doug’s house that morning and rode to the game with his wife and 2 young sons and also sat with them at the game right behind the Packers bench.
After the game I got to meet Favre and his wife too. They were both really cool. We had a mutual friend from the Hattiesburg area. We talked for 5 minutes or so.
After that we rode back over to Doug’s house and just hung out watching football and such. It was a fun day.
I ended up going to a couple of more games with them that year. Got to see an epic game vs the 49ers when they had Jerry Rice, Steve Young, etc.
The only other celeb that comes to mind that I met was Faith Ford. She was building a house in Pineville about 20 years ago. I went by for there work reasons and got to meet her. She was cordial. She let me take a couple of photos with her, but wasn’t really overly friendly.

I had a brief encounter with Joey Lauren Adams at one of the dog parks in Oxford when I was in school there. She lived there at the time. Not sure if she still does. We petted each other’s dogs as they were very excited to see one another. Took me a second to realize who I was looking at. She was very hippyish. Still hot though back in 2007ish.
ETA: I remember her dog having a Kavu collar. She was rocking overalls.

I’ve “met” several, but mostly on movie sets when I was “working” as a stand-in/extra, so not casual settings. A couple of stand-outs:
1) The Rock. Set of Snitch, filmed in Shreveport. He was producing it, too, and the only other big star I’d been on set with that was also producing was Tommy Lee Jones, and I was told “whatever you do, don’t look at or speak to Mr. Jones unless he speaks to you 1st. Very uncomfortable when he was around. I expected to be given similar instructions for the Rock, but wasn’t. I had gotten a late night call to see if I could make a 6 am call time for fitting to “play” a U.S. Marshall. Of course. So I showed up, got fitted and dressed, then ate breakfast. If you haven’t been on a movie set, there’s a lot of waiting around doing nothing for extras. You may be there 12-14 hours, but only “work” 30 minutes or an hour. So I brought a book.
1st set-up was at courthouse that I wasn’t involved in, so me and the other Marshall sat in the lobby and I started reading. As soon as they started shooting, you could tell The Rock was all business. Not an a-hole by any means, but he was just starting to get serious in the business, and as a producer, there was a lot of pressure on him, so he had his game face on all day. Never mean to anybody, but wasn’t cutting up between takes—all business.
Finally, they called for the Marshalls and we went “outside” where there was a big black Escalade parked outside the building, but we were enclosed with a big mechanical “door” to be raised so the Escalade could drive out. Usually, there’s several extras in a scene, and you’re just background, getting a quick 30 second instruction on where to stand and what to do. But there were only about 5 of us extras, and the director walked up to us 2 Marshalls and started explaining the scene. And directors NEVER engage with extras. So he says, “Alright, Dwayne is gonna be waiting out here with y’all for his son to be released into y’all’s custody, they’re gonna embrace, then his wife and ex-wife are gonna come out and y’all are gonna get in the car and drive out.”
So I start getting nervous because I know all these actors, but I’m a pro ( ) and was ready. Then the director says “which one of y’all can drive?” I was 30-years-old, so I timidly raised my hand and said, “uh, I can drive.” “You. Good. So after they come out and start to embrace, you walk over to the driver’s side and get in, Dwayne’s gonna get in next to you and the other 3 are gonna get in the back. Wait until the door is totally raised, then slowly drive out and into the parking lot. Oh by the way, this is the last shot of the movie, so don’t frick it up.”
“Holy shite,” I thought as I got super nervous. We ran through it real quick to basically block it. Rock gets in next to me, extends his hand, and introduces himself. “Dwayne Johnson.” Then back to places for the real thing. “Action.” They come out, it’s a very emotional scene, I get in, Rock gets in, then the other 3 get in. And everybody but Rock is balling as I look at them in the rear view making sure they’re in and ready and then eyes forward waiting for the door to lift. Longest 10 seconds of my life. Rock tells me to go, and I drive out, nervous as frick. Had to drive a good bit into the parking lot until they radio to Rock that we’re out of the shot and I can finally stop.
Director calls for 1 more. Rock looks at me, pulls down his sunglasses, and asks me “How are your backup skills?” I say “fine,” he gives me the go ahead, and I back up like 30 yards in a not straight line (I had to avoid some parked cars) while looking in the rear view at these method actors who are still crying. Completely surreal. 30 minutes prior I was reading a book in a lobby chair. I nail the backup and hit the spot. “Nice job, kid.” They get out and we do it again. Nailed it. “Director yells that’s a wrap for the day,” Rock thanks me, gets out, and that was that.
Not a great story for the thread, because it wasn’t an in-the-wild meeting. But I was super impressed with Rock’s treatment of a lowly extra and professionalism without being a dick, which had not been my experience with other actors who weren’t even as big of stars as he was.

Emmitt Smith and his wife squeezed in next to us at the tee box in the 2000 Masters to watch Tiger tee off, can't remember which hole. But when Tiger walked up he saw Emmitt and pointed at him so if course I pointed right back at him like we were besties

Ali as a child on an Airplane.
We asked my 6-year old sister to get his autograph because it seemed easier. He signed the piece of paper and kissed her on the cheek.
On the plane, he was in 1st class but drunk old dudes kept going up to him...and standing over him.
So he got up and stood in the galley of the plane for over an hour and entertained and told stories to middle-aged guys. This was when Ali had only been retired for about 5 years. So around '85.
I doubt you'd ever see the most famous man on the planet on a random commercial flight again...and be so gracious with his time. It was a crowd around him...fasten your seat belts, not that day.

Met George Romero while volunteering at a con. Dude was super chill... had the lead asking where he was to me over the radio.
Lead: "WHERE'S ROMERO?"
Me: "He's smoking with the security guys. Looks like he's almost done... nope, he just lit up another one."
Lead: "Get him here NOW!"
Me: "... I'll let him know."
I walked up to him, let him know they needed him for his panel. He said okay, continued to smoke, and chatted with me for a good bit. Didn't seem to be in much of a rush. Really chill vibe, friendly dude. Didn't really seem to see himself as a celebrity.
