I met Kevin Spacey at a party when I was a teenager. He was extremely nice and seemed genuinely interested in me.

A fwe years back, I was playing golf at City Park North Course, Now Bayou Oaks North Course. There was a significant hold up because there was a walker and a few other carts that were playing slow. I finally make it up to the walker and he asks if I wanted to play together since he was by himself and so was I, so I said sure. The guy told me his buddy was coming to meet us. When it was just us two we chatted about anything and everything. When his buddy showed up he hopped in the golf cart with him and told his buddy that three of us were playing together.

Turns out that guy with Anthony Mackie and his buddy was the Saints assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. That was a cool experience. We didn't talk about his career at all. He was just a cool arse dude. I also didn't know who he was until hole 17.

Was walking off a shooting range at an event in Las Vegas and R. Lee Ermey was walking toward us.

My co-worker stops him and says "can my buddy take a photo of us with me doing push ups and you yelling at me?"

Ermey replies "No, my contract says no photos of me yelling at people." My co-worker is trying to process that info when Ermey says "but I can take a picture choking you" and immediately grabs him around the throat. I snap the pic and Ermey laughs and walks away.

I end up running into him the next day and we got a big laugh about it. FWIW, my co-worker was a PITA who always got all googly eyed around celebrities and asked for photos and autographs. I think Ermey picked up on that and choked him because of it.

I met Patrick Warburton (Puddy from Seinfeld) and Peter Weller (Robocop) at a fundraiser for Steve Gleason prior to the ravens niners Super Bowl in early 2013. Warburton was great. I actually made him laugh when I told him my 6 year old loved him. He looked at me with curiosity so I told him that my son and I played Skylanders together and my son loves Flynn.
Weller was pretty friendly. Heavy smoker.

Rode in an elevator with Arthur Ashe back in the late 70's. We were in Memphis, me for a frat party and him for he US Indoor Championship. He was very quiet but spoke freely when engaged.

In the 90's I attended a small cocktail party in NOLA and met Mary Ann Mobley and Gary Collins. Mary Ann was still as beautiful as ever and both were extremely friendly and free with their time to talk.

Met Jamie Bell at the Bulldog in BR when he was in town filming Fantastic Four. Bumped into him while we were both getting a beer at the bar. He was by himself so I invited him to sit with us but he politely declined. Later read this was while he was going through a divorce and hooking up with Kate Mara....wish she had been with him.

Met Tim Robbins on Royal Street in NOLA late one Sunday afternoon. He was just strolling along window shopping, I was with a date and we all three stopped at the same shop looking at stuff in the window at the same time. Just made small talk with him, nothing about celebrity life, nice guy. Strolls around kind of like Andy Dufresne, not a care in the world.

I met Redd Foxx once.

Other than faking a heart attack and calling me a dummy, he seemed like a nice guy.

Hit and miss with most but the most impressive was Stan "The Man" Musial. We were working a function that had tons of Hall of Famers on hand and they ran from "don't bother me" to a polite hello.

Mr. Musial made a point to shake hands with every member of the staff that he could, ask our names, what our profession was, and general questions about how we were doing.

Have a random, random encounter that I had before going on back in the late 90s

He was cool, wouldn't drink a single beer. I think that I actually took him by surprise asking questions about Continental wrestling

James Carville in the airport - Port of Spain Trinidad. Very nice guy, we talked Louisiana and left politics out (somehow).

My father had James Garner ask if he could share a table for breakfast at a hotel in Hawaii. Super nice guy.

Heh - not a huge celebrity but I worked along side Jerry Stovall at a charity fun run and had no idea who he was until we were finishing up. Nice guy - of course.

Talked with Jimmy Buffet after he played with Little Feat on the River Boat President. Briefly. Mostly to get him to shake my wife's hand, she was stunned to see him standing next to us. Nice guy, he did so very politely. (Best concert I've ever seen BTW)

Most famous was Richard Simmons. Cool dude in person.

His brother was a bigwig in Kiwanis in the 90s and 00s.

Has a former relative that was a venue booker for a few different wrestling promotions. Was in the locker rooms a few times. AJ Styles, Kurt Angle, Shawn Michaels, Taker, Foley and “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair. Actually had a drink with Flair after a show in Nashville years ago.

I've mentioned this before but one time I called my mom to ask what she was doing and she said she was hanging out with her friend Lou. She invited me for dinner so I go over there and Freakin Lou Ferigno is sitting at her kitchen table. Apparently my mom and stepdad had been friends with him for years. She knew he was an actor but had no idea that he was the Incredible Hulk. Really nice guy.
