The episode ended up pretty strong, I was just annoyed at readin' all them words, especially with a character who is able to speak English in some scenes. And those slow-motion camera pans/pulls can really eat up some plotless time.

The fact that Tonto is an early generation host helps answer one big question i had: were hosts really waking up or was that all Ford's narrative. If he was able to wake up that early, then maybe there was something to Arnold's suspicion that he and Ford had created something more than they intended.

I'm not sure if his controls are off. Like could he skin William alive?

I'm also back to being pretty confused about timelines.

Much better than I was expecting. Still confused on what the door is that he saw but it had me wanting more at the end. One question I had at the end - was the Indian girl somehow uploaded to Maeve or could she just read his mind to say that?

Also one detail I noticed which is the beauty of this show is the fly on his hand when he discovers the maze at Arnold’s death. Love the little details like that.

2 episodes left. I have a feeling that "The Door" or "The Weapon" aren't going to be revealed until the closing scene.

But obviously it was a facility Akecheta saw under construction.

Btw, "Rickmancing the Stone" is on right now, which is the perfect episode to chase down WW, with robot Morty fighting to stay alive.

I loved the episode. To those complaining they had to read, I don't even know what to say.

Maeve can communicate with other hosts through this mesh network. Ake was talking to Maeve directly at least at the end. The "it was a promise you couldn't keep" that he said to the little girl was really him talking with Maeve.

The Ake actor was fantasic imo and I thought the cold storage scene was well done

I think Kohana is the girl who played Pocahontas in The New World, she's really pretty. I enjoyed the episode for what it was. It had a lot of deeper, more philosophical themes to it. This may not drive the plot in the normal sense, but I think it reaches the audience in that deeper sense I was speaking of, these philosophical themes the show was built on.

And once again, I point out that every single episode can't be a 10/10, for it destroys the emotional impact of the truly amazing episodes. Cue the whole "can't enjoy the sun without a few cloudy days".

Final note that hit me: Akechita was speaking to Maeve the entire episode, not her daughter. I think the techs made that clear when they mentioned she had been communicating through the mesh.

EDIT: I think Akechita was talking to Maeve and her daughter during the episode. When he spoke in English, he was speaking to her daughter. When he was speaking Lakota, he was speaking to Maeve. If you watch his dialogue he switches between English and Lakota back and forth.

I can understand why some people found it boring but I really liked it. Much rather this stuff then the Dolores storyline and the retarded Delos security team.

So I guess Ford isn’t in control as much as I thought he was.

Also another episode showcasing how Delos has shitty security. He walked through the whole place without anyone seeing him.

I don’t care if it moved the plot or not, that was a very good hour of television.

I was glad they got back to some of the Bicameral Mind theory that they'd teased last season. I think Jaynes argued that early humans were essentially instinctive animals, who literally heard the voices of god(s) talking to them as their own subconscious instincts telling them what to do or not to do.

But they developed religion as they came "awake" and still had some memories of the earlier years when they could hear their instincts talking to them.

As they showed Akecheta walking around and sharing what he had learned, I could kind of see that as one interpretation of early stone age or bronze age men trying to remember, and developing new ideas as they travelled around and encountered different cultures.

You probably should have watched it before commenting. One of the best episodes of the series IMO

I was not looking forward to tonights episode. I thought it would be filler and I couldn't give a rats arse about ghost nation......boy I am so glad to be wrong.

Not only was tonight an amazing episode, but Akecheta is now one of my favprite characters. The way the episode told us that Akecheta was the first "woke" host is great storytelling. We have a character that has been aware of what he is for decades and has chosen the peaceful way to leave Westworld behind, the ying to Dolores/Teddy's yang.
